Turnout over a lake

Putting this in scenery and structures since it is more of a scenery discussion at this point.  Feel free to move.

One of the principal towns on my narrow gauge pike has a lake as a prominent feature.  I decided to swing one section of track out over a corner of the lake on a trestle.  However due to space for the yard, I had to put one turnout on the end of the trestle.

Tree Tunnels

Creating a tree tunnel

In addition to my modeling another interest ( obsession ) of mine is my motorcar ( speeder )..

On a trip in New England a few weeks ago I noticed sort of a natural phenomenum that I don't believe I have ever seen modeled. I call it  tree tunnels where the trees have grown along side and over the RR right of way through the woods to create long stretches of essentially tunnels through the forest.

Has anyone ever modeled such a look on a layout...???? Looking for some possible pic's.

Thanks

plaster peeling up while applying latex paint.

Ok, so I covered all of the plaster cloth with a thin soupy layer of plaster, and to get it to come out fairly smooth, I sprayed water on it.  When all was said and done it looked pretty good.  The plaster cloth was hidden and there was a smooth layer of plaster over it all - covered well.

Can someone help me to interpret these pictures of a sawmill?

Hullo folks,

Recently I've been making various evergreen trees based on tutorials I found. I'm having fun with this, and was thinking of using my trees in a diorama, which led to me researching New York Central stuff in the Adirondacks. I've discovered an interesting website about the sawmill at Reynoldston NY but could do with some advice about what's likely to be going on here.

Decorative Shingles

I am finally finishing a kit of the tower at Quinnimont West Virginia in HO scale.  This is not a good kit for various reasons and I have had to do an unreasonable amount of modifications and shimming and such to get this far.

But I just noticed the kit does not have the decorative shingles that are on the tower below the windows and in the gables on the roof.  They are mentioned in the instructions but are not in the box.  Note I am a bit meticulous in organizing and keeping track of my parts for laser cut kits so trust me they were not in the box.

What about a new station name?

Tynset Station, Norwegian State Railways

This Station is at Tynset, on the Norwegian State Railways line from Hamar / Elverum to Trondhjem. I kind of liked the Station sign here ;-)

Staging hidden with buildings

Hi.

As some of you know, I am building a layout with a New England flavor.

The big industry that will generate most of the traffic will be a paper mill.

I have a small two track staging yard thy will be behind the mill.

I was searching ways to hide the staging, when I found the beautiful "Washington Northern" layout from Kevin Klettke. He hide his staging with the paper mill he has on the layout, with a track arrangement that is similar to what I have.

Bartlett Freight House Kit from Creative Laser Design

I have started on the N scale Bartlett Freight House wood laser kit from Creative Laser Design  I really like the kit so far based on the parts and the fact that assembly was made very easy.  They even did things like having tabs at the corners where the walls meet that mate differently at each corner so there is no way to mistakenly assemble the walls wrong.
