PVC pipe used for tanks?

Hello All,

I was wondering if PVC pipe could be used as Chemical tanks on the layout. And if so, what size would be good for HO (W, and Height)  and does anyoine have a PVC pipe into tanks for dummies I can borrow?

I am trying to make a Chemical plant, but I kind of want to do it, and not use a kit....or so I'm thinking right now..... lol.

Many Thanks,

Ernest

Bridge Design with drawings

Working away on my lift bridge - lighthouse combo project and decided that I wanted to handlay track on the bridge rather than use the solid deck that came with in the box.  Pretty sure that railway lift bridges did not have their track on a solid surface.

Anyway stumbled on this site: http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/library/policy/army/fm/3-34-343/chap4.htm

From of all places military information for global security.  Who would have thunk it.

Negative Ion Generator (china)

Hi everyone. I have been lurking around here for a while but now I figured it was time to sign up. My first post is about the negative Ion generator needed for the static grass applicator..

I live in china for the moment (I am here for work) and I will probably be here for a while. I wonder if someone can confirm that this unit would be safe to use (The DC version):

track weathering tool

Has anyone tried this track weathering tool from Joe's Model Trains?  It looks like a pretty neat little gizmo so I wanted to find out how well it works.

Thanks,
Bill

Plastic Wood

I'm wondering if I can use Lepage's Plastic Wood as a substitue to Squadron Putty.  I will give it a try on some scrap styrene.  Anyone had any success with this stuff.  Want to apply it to my lighthouse and then carve it to look like rough rock work.

Lepages describes it as "Plastic wood is a high quality solvent based wood filler".

MEK

Viewing Joe Fugates Scenery and Bridges DVD he speaks of a product called M.E.K.  which I understood was available in hardware stores.  Well not in these parts - went to three hardware stores today no one had heard of it.  Is it sold under a different name in Canada?  I have a few more stops in my search, later in the month I'll be in the city and can check in the big box hardware stores.
