Model Railroading and Lego blocks
In recent months I've run across several articles on using Lego blocks in making buildings from kits and scratch building them as well. Has anyone her actually used them? I would think they would come in handy in joining parts or keep walls straight when there is nothing else to support them. I've even come across an article which describes how cut up Lego blocks can be used in N-Scale Magazine.
So if you used them let me know> Even if you haven't there are probably some opinions that need to be aired so use this opportunity.

Video of lake on alcove mural
O.K. - you guys are probably getting tired of hearing about the alcove, but I wanted to show the lake that the artist is painting so I made a "quickie" video:

Video - Checking track clearance & turnout replacement
I'm working on the rock cut inside radius and needed to see how much clearance I had between the track and the foam "wall" that will have the hand carved plaster rocks. I didn't want to do all of the work only to find out that it was too tight! The foam wall piece is removable, so I'll do my plaster rock work at the bench before returning the unit to be installed permently.
Yarder colors
What is a good color for black iron used in steam yarders and related equipment? I remember a lot of grungy looking black, but not really a lot of rust for well maintained equipment. Old equipment used many years ago by my dad still doesn't have a lot of rust on it, just on the wear areas. Bull rigging and other things dragged through the dirt, rocks, limbs and other stuff on the job that had paint scraped off are rusty.
I'm thinking a tarnished black with a dark brown wash with wear areas a redder brown.
Comments please,

Automobile Bridge
Hello All:
On my HO layout in progress I would like to model a bridge that carries vehicles and pedestrians which ends at the edge of the layout. I am looking for suggestions on kits or parts to use in making the bridge. I had seen a manufacturer who makes a vehicle bridge in my web travels and thought I saved the information.
Thanks for any suggestions or point in the right direction.
Gazillions of signs to download....
I found this link at another board. Be ready for HUNDREDS of signs, mostly old:
http://www.nexusboard.net/showthread.php?siteid=7293&threadid=1224
There are a lot of signs per page, and a lot of pages. Each page prints to 8 1/2 X 11. This guy did an excellent work!.
Scenic Express Super Trees - Advise / comments
Hello all!
I just got my Super Trees starter kit today from Scenic Express. These look like like they can / will make some truly super trees!
Has anyone used this product before? Yes, the kit comes with instructions, but you more experienced guys may have some 'custom ideas' that can make things easier or better.
For instance, they recommend spray painting the natural armatures. I'm wondering if they could be dyed or stained instead. The material seems like it would absorb color well, as opposed to paint that may flake off or chip.
Turf and Grass Questions
Does anyone know of a way to create your own turf.....? The products sold now are expensive, and I would like to find an alternative. My layout is probably going to use between 50 and 75 square feet of coverage and I would like to make my own, sort of like the fine turf, or at best the coarse turf.
Thanks.....!
