Modeling a power plant

I am wanting to add a small power plant to my layout and I'm looking for some pointers on how to model one.  I have two options for the bench work.  Option one would be built along the wall and would be roughly 12 inches deep by 8 feet in length.  Option two would be built on a peninsula and would measure 2 feet by 6 feet.

I'm looking for some helpful hints on how to pull this off.  If you have some Trackplans or photos that you would like to share, that would be extremely helpful!

Ebbets Field in O scale without selective compression.

I posted a link to this one a number of weeks ago.  I don't know how many folks took a look, but I've been following it on another forum, and thought I'd post an update.  This structure is absolutely beyond belief!

Cutting Foam for Scenery

I have moved into adding foam around the track work that has been laid already.  I want to run trains in the mountain area without the risk of locos or rolling stock dashing to the floor.  Hence the foam.

Now I don't know about you but I have worked with foam before...in the garage...and it can get messy.  Well the new layout is in the 'man cave'.  This is a "den/extra room" that I installed double doors on and thereby was granted free reign of my new kingdom.  Behind closed doors, but nevertheless free reign!!

Almost done!

I've been working on Kevin Klettke's "Grandpa Sam's" place for......well.....quite sometime now!  I'm almost done and I'm now in the process of constructing a diorama for some pictures before I ship the structure off to Kevin.  I couldn't resist placing the structure on the unfinished diorama and snapping a photo in my back yard.  Of course I'll add a bunch more foliage on the scene before traveling to a nice pasture area to shoot some pictures.

Pulpwood Unloader

So I am looking for some ideas that you may have come up with for modeling a pulpwood unloader for a paper mill project that I am working on. I have wood chip unloading taken care of with an off scene unloading facility (sorry not enough room to model that) The picture below is one that Bernard Kempinski scratch built for his Dancor module several years ago.

Supertree alternative

I am calling for all my fellow modelers in Australia or anyone that can help. I am looking for an alternative to scenic express supertrees. It is next to impossible  due to quarantine reasons without jumping through an enormous number of hoops due to them being a natural plant material.
