Roads
Looking for any feedback on the installation of roads. Particularly the modeling of Asphalt roads that would be seen in the late 60s.
Show of your modeling.. Please.
Carving Rocks In Foam
Has anyone tried carving rock in the blue construction styrofoam? I'm sure I have seen it done somewhere but can't find it. I have a tunnel scene that exits out of blasted rock and I think foam might work here but I'd like to see some examples.

Trees
Trees.
In am hoping that some one out there can tall me how to stop ground foam from sticking to the trees trunk.
The entire tree from top to bottom gets covered with spray adhesive and is then dusted with foam ( woodland scenics green blend T49 ). As I am not using furnace filter type material rather individual branches the trunk is very exposed. I have been able to brush off some of the foam but it still shows.
Any suggestions would be most welcome. Apologies for the bad quality pictures.
Thanks.
John.
Shed made from Southern Boxcar
Here's an easy project based on a prototype in Spruce Pine NC.
This is actually part of a lumber yard right next to a small CSX yard which also has another similar boxcar shed used to store a small forklift.

Adventures in aquiring scenery materials
Okay, not so much an adventure, but none the less.
I've been slowly acquiring materials, supplies what have you for my layout scenery. I've decided to use the methods and techniques that Joe shows us in his videos which I am grateful to have on hand as a reference seeing as how I've never done any of this stuff before.

Joe's Rusty Rails Painter
Hi,
I'm trying to paint my rails with Joe's Rusty Rails Painter. I have no idea what is going on. The roller is new and doesn't work. The paint doesn't run through hole. I diluted the paint for a bit (I thought that the paint is to dense maybe) and nothing. Any idea what I'm doing wrong?
Thank you in advance,

An idea for painted clapboard siding
I saw this photo on another forum, and had one of those lightbulb moments:
Simulated Lightning and Thunder
Hello,
I am looking to design a thunderstorm for the backdrop of a module I am planning. I would like to simulate cloud to cloud lightning (clound to ground lightning would be cool; but, dangerous) thru the use of multiple lights (LEDs?) accompained by thunder. I would like to control the lights in different groups (thinking 5) so the lightning would not always be in the same location. I would also like to control the timing between the lightning and the thunder so I can make it sound like the storm is getting closer and them moving off.

Dirt and mud between ties
Hey guys,
I intend to start with ballasting my layout. But I'm not sure how to make spots where ballast has changed to dirt and mud and covered ties.
Thanks in advance.

Bridge scene on module
Googled myself yesterday for fun and found an old photo of a oNeTRAK module I built back in 1999. I shot the low angle view with a point and shoot digital. Thanks to Bernie Kempenski's photo wizardry it still looks great in this action shot 13 years later, as he added the sky background and faint exhaust streaks.
