Track and electrical/DCC
Documenting the wiring of the layout.
When I was a member of the Abington Lines Model Railroad Club a LONG time ago, the member that was in charge of the wiring was an EE. As such we had very good documentation of where each and every wire went and what it did. He did this with a combination of a spreadsheet and software that produced a wiring schematic. I was wonfering if anybody does this and what software they use?
Atlas Turnouts, Custom Line VS Super track
Can anyone clarify the difference between Atlas Custom Line versus Atlas Super Track turnouts. The #6 505/506 vs the 563/564. Any reason there is only a #6 505/506. I have searched but find nothing on this subject.
Thanks

Need you opinion on a sound decoder switch...
I have a Bachmann Norfolk and Western. I model SP, so I will not be running this engine (it was a gift and I have no interest in getting rid of it). However, I do have a SP Heavy Mountain that does not have sound. I am thinking about placing the sound decoder in it. It should be OK right?

Rechargeable 9v batteries
Has anyone tried using rechargeable 9 volt batteries in Digitrax UT4D and DT402D throttles? It sees to me it might be a good use for rechargeables. Any info would be appreciated.
edited: UT4D rather than DT4D. I knew it didn't look right. What I get for being in a hurry.
A MicroController Controlled Point to Point Trolley Layout
A MicroController Controlled Point to Point Trolley Layout
I am working on adding computer control to my little point to point trolley layout. The controller is the Ardunio UNO MicroController board. I have it all worked out for connectivity and just finished bench testing the components and the program. It is going to work!
A DC Alternative to DCC
An Alternative to DCC and Traditional DC control
I have a little point to point trolley layout that is DC powered. I used the Bachmann power pak until I found the Crest POWER PAK ADAPTER:
Installing decoders in N steam loco's
I have been looking at starting to install decoders in my steam stock and have been wondering about input, ideas and guidesfor stqrting this process I have not seen a lot of guidance on actually putting them in but am getting an idea. my main queswtion is about a bachmann 4-8-4 that is not dcc ready and have been consideringplacing the pc boards for the spectrum series 4-8-2 in the 4-8-4, and upgrading the lesser loco as much as poss look forward to input, and any thing to watch for thanks all

Need help with two LifeLike Geeps (GP7 and GP30) with different issues.
I have recently acquired two Life Like Geeps. One is a GP7 Phase II that was new in box. The other is a GP30 that was lightly used. My goal was to add DCC to both and consider sound for both. I got 2 Digitrax DH165LO decoders as plug in replacements for the factory light boards. Worked fine in the GP7, but no lights in the GP30.

Block Detection & Signalling...
Hi All,
As part of the continuing growth of the JL&T I have started to research block detection & signaling for the layout. My plan of attack is to look at the available options and implement the chosen method in the L&T Branch first before I tackle the greater portion of the layout.
Adjusting QSI Sound
I'm hoping someone here will know how to do this. I have an F7A/B set with QSI sound in both. I would like to set the sound in one so that it is slightly different, i.e. not precisely like the other. I did this with another F7A/B set which has Tsunami in both. To make one a bit different, I added reverb ala Bruce P's suggestions. But I can't figure out what to adjust (if anything) for the QSI units. Any advice?
