Track and electrical/DCC

Switch Machines, which one.
Currently my Credit Valley Railway (CVR) is in boxes in a storage area. I am back to designing an "ideal" layout that will be built as modules once I get the space.

Ok guys, when you get tired of playing with your DCC engines and want to load that hopper car or tractor trailer with some sand or what have you. Here ya' go.

Cross talk??
I'm having a problem with cross talk between actuating a switch motor and the photo detectors (Circuitron DT-4). The current surge in the switch motor gets induced somehow into the photo detector circuit. I isolated the wiring for the detector from any switch motor through distance and twisting the leads of the detector.
Rerailer
I recently read somewhere about putting rerailers at both ends of hidden staging yard tracks. I really like that idea from a reliability standpoint, but my staging tracks are already installed, and would prefer not ripping them up to add rerailers if I don't need to. So here's the question - has anyone ever made ther own rerailers to add to track that's already installed? I'm using atlas code 83 flex track and am wondering if rails can be added, maybe similar to guard rails on a bridge section? Would that have the same effect as a purchased rerailer or not?

Minimum Friction Contacts
As I talked about in my thread on motorizing the Atheran crane thread that I had an idea of making a truck with less friction in the pick up wipers. I came up with the idea of using a tiny ball bearing race on the axle of the trucks. I'm using a set of Intermoutain 33" dia. wheels as an experiment. No electrical connection since both wheels are insulated. The axle is brass plated with a blackening. I just want to test this theory out to see if it will work. I'm going to use pieces of .006" thick phosphor bronze sheet cut into a narrow strip.
BC&SJ Manual Turnout controls?
Was wondering if anyone knows how Charlie Comstock BC&SJ manual turnout controls that he has mounted to fascia work I have the Ops DVD that has his layout in it and interested in how he makes them and how they are mounted. I see the you have to pull the knob out first then twist it to switch the turnout and then push the knob back in.

Staging turnout size
Just a question I think I already know the answer to... If the largest turnout on the layout is a #6, does it make sense to do the same in staging? Through trains would not need to go through any turnouts on the layout, so I was thinking #8s in staging, but does it really make sense?
Should I just go with #6s everywhere?
Thanks,
Ryan

programming ditch lights to a paragon 2
Hi ! I have a paragon 2 SD 40-2 locomotive. I want the ditch lights to stay on an alternating all the time ...not only when the horn blasts. Is it possible? I ve read the tech. reference manual but I got confused.
If anyone Knows any value for the Cvs. I will appreciate them very much!!
thanks!

capacitors
is it possible to use a capacitor on DC locomotives to keep them running over "dead" spots?
-just curious because I have a lifetime and a half supply of capacitors in various sizes that i could use
Thanks in advance
Does anyone have experiance with TAT (True Action Throttle)??
I would like to know if it is possible to set the TAT brake with a light throttle and increase the brake setting or adjust the throttle setting to make a precise stop. This is the way the 12 inch scale trains were operated to control slack action.
The reason I am interested is that none of the DCC decoders can do this. The brake will not work if the throttle is open, or opening the throttle cancels the brake setting.
