Track and electrical/DCC
Curve Radius = I have a problem.
I have limited space. I can only construct a 8 x 4 in the limited area I have. I wanted to have a continuous run outer track with some sort of industrial/yard set up in the middle.
Control Interoperability
Discussions concerning a question about "Radio Control Layout" have overflowed into considerations of basic control architectures and how they may or may not be operated together. With the introduction of RailPro, the hobby has access to a new control system to be weighed against the many systems available.

Crimping Connectors
On my last layout (many years ago) I used spade lugs like that below, along with the "traditional" barrier type terminal strips to organize my wiring. It worked well, so I plan to use that system again. In my usual overkill fashion, instead of doing a single crimp on the lug, I did two crimps, one near each end of the metal inner barrel. It held the wires tenaciously, with not a single failure.
Use a decoder to index a turntable
Is there room for a newby in this forum? I have a decoder question. I recently came across a good deal on a Walther's 90' turntable model 3171. This unit only has a DC motor but no controls. It requires a reversing switch and push buttons to operate. I am wondering if anyone has, or if it is possible to, hook up a decoder to index operation. Any suggestions as to what decoder to use would also be extremely helpful.
Thanks for the help.

Choosing The Correct Sound Decoder
Guys, I am trying to determine which Tsunami Sound decoder to choose for my Atlas GP-38, CP #3008.
I think I have figured out on my own that it was powered by an EMD 645 but there are two versions in the Litchfield catalog to choose from, 2nd Gen Turbo and 2nd Gen NonTurbo. Does anyone know, or can anyone advise me as to how I could figure out for myself, if #3008 was turbo-charged or not?

Digitrax Signalling...
Hey guys,
I've decided to bight the bullet and install signalling on the JL&T, after looking at what's around, what is working, ease of installation, support and namely what looks easy in my eyes to install I've decided to go with a stand alone Digitrax Signalling System.

Sigh. Maintenance is so much fun... not.
Well, I've got an extra New Rail Blue Point turnout controller with a flex link now....
I discovered a few weeks ago that one of my Tortoises didn't appear to be working - it was thrown one way and wouldn't go back the other.
Bummer.

Raspberry Pi
Check this out. Sure seems like there should be some ingenious use for this on a model railroad. And at only $25 the price is right.
