Wiring sucks!!
There I feel a little better now. I just wired a module and have a question. Most people swear by solid strand wire. I just swear at it. Is there any problem using stranded wire for feeders.
Thanks

Reverse Loop Section issue
At our club we have a reverse loop section that is fairly short. I know that the suggested practice is to have the reverse loop section longer than the longest train you plan to run. Problem is the layout was built with just a 5' reverse section with gaps in the rail. they did not use plastic insulators . I have found that the auto reverse relay goes crazy/shorts out, as soon as the train bridges the whole length of the reverse loop section.

JMRI - Just to tell you how happy I am!
Having played around with JMRI for a couple of weeks, I have managed to install it exactly as I wanted.
Firstly, I bought the NCE USB interface and got all that working on my iMac
2. I defined a panel and turnouts to interface to my Heljan/Walthers DCC turntable
3. Set up WiThrottle on my iPhone.
4. Got all of this going in a great way.
I then picked up a cheap Toshiba laptop on Ebay - it cost me £6 ($10) with £8 ($13) postage.
A noobee DCC decoder question
I have a very basic question regarding DCC decoders. I have a bit of confusion when I read about sound decoders and control decoders. Do sound decoders control the train's movements as well as produce sounds? Do control decoders only control train movement? If I have a loco with a basic control decoder and I want sound, do I just add a sound decoder or remove the basic decoder first?
Thank you to any and all for their input.
Wire Guage
I'm constructing an 4x8 N scale DCC layout. I have 12 rail joiners positioned throughout the layout. My plan is to run each joiner to a bus under the layout, then run the bus wire to the DCC power pack. My question is what size wire gauge should I use for the bus?
Thanks-Tim
Opinions - Central Valley Tie Strips
Have any of you laid track using Central Valley Tie Strips? If so, would you do it again? I'm seriously considering them for my new layout. Looking for advice from anyone who has. Thanks

PECO Turnout and Control Panels with PL-13 accessory
I had started this discussion under Luke's Control Panel item but it seems to have taken a life of it's own.
go to: http://model-railroad-hobbyist.com/node/19604 for Luke's original post.
I want to use PECO switches on a less accessible section of my layout and control them from a control panel. And I would like to have LED's light up the selected route. I'd be using push button momentary switches on the control panel to set the direction.

Blue Point Turnout Controller for Two Switches at Once?
Is it possible for a Blue Point manual turnout controller to move two switches at once? I have a crossover between mains and I'd like to use a single knob on the fascia to move both. I'm writing because it appears not but I thought someone may have actual experience with one.

Arduino Based DCC Control of 8 Relays
There was a discussion on this forum the other day about using DCC to activate or deactivate track segments. The simplest way to do this with DCC is to toggle relays on or off to supply or cut power to these segments.
A good bit of work has been done recently on using Arduino based DCC decoders and I felt that this was a logical extension of the work that has been done to date.
