Bus wiring question

I'm getting ready to string bus wire for my new shelf layout.  The bus wire itself isn't the question, it's connecting the track feeder wires to the bus that is.

Using suitcase connectors is the easiest way but my concern is for troubleshooting shorts later on.  Assume the problem is with the feeder wire itself (not a solder joint) and I have to attach new feeder wire: Can I "open" a closed suitcase connector; replace the feeder wire; and then close it again?  Or once closed the suitcase connector cannot be reopened without destroying it?

Atlas Turnouts

What is the difference between Atlas N scale turnouts 2702 Standard Switch Manual Left and a 2706 #6 Turnout Manual Left?

Decoder pro and QSI decoders

After watching Joe explain decoder pro I went and purchased the system. Most of my loco's worked fine, but a few of my loco' with QSI Quantum system analog & dcc Q1a sound decoders do not seem to take with decoder pro. This is starting to become very frustrating, I do not know if I am doing something wrong, or these decoders are not able to be used with decoder pro.   Thank You  George

Where is the reverse loop

Hey guys I used a layout from the atlas layout book and it is a two level layout.  I have attached it I hope.  I know the top level is going to be a reverse but I don't know where to put the insulators.  I will be running this in dcc and going to split the upper and lower levels into two zones.  I just want to make sure that I put the insulators in the right spot.  I am a newbee when it comes to stuff but have a basic understanding of this I think.

Rear rail DCC Consist

Back in the hobby after a long hiatus and back to HO.  I have decided that dead rail is the way to go.  I have used batteries in R/C airplanes for a long time.  Not a problem.  I don't want to crawl under the layout chasing bad, expensive wiring anymore (too old). My layout will not have steep grades or long trains so tractive effort is not a problem.

How to get Woodlands Scenic Foam Tack glue off Peco points

Hi Everyone

I am in the process of recovering some points of my recently dismantled model railroad. The track was stuck down to the Woodlands Scenics  foam track bed using their foam tack glue. It is really awkward to get off from the underside. I wondered if anyone else has done this and if there is a "magic" way to remove it?

A challenge for the electronic gurus

We have a modular layout at our club that we are about to set up with occupancy detection and signalling. The DCC setup is all Digitrax with BDL 168s for occupancy and SE8s and Tortoise point motors.  We have no issue with setting everything up on all the main modules.  However, at each end of the layout we have 60" long staging modules.

DCC Test Track and Decoder Pro Setup

I am in the process of building a DCC Test Track using the NEC Power Cab and the USB interface for Powercab.

Started off with MDF board cut to 3" x 48" Then I sanded the board and painted it white.

PWN noise supression for G Scale

Hi all,

My garden rail LGB loco has recently been fitted with battery power and an RC system (using Deltang components, but based on a kit from another supplier). The train runs well, the smoke generator and lights are all functioning properly, and i'm general pretty happy. But one thing i've found is that there is a distinct noise coming from the motor. I spoke to the supplier (Peter Spoerer) and he said that its PWM noise:
