JMRI without cables?

Has anyone come up with a simple way of connecting JMRI to a layout or programming track without cables and RS32 adapters. I have been using an NCE Procab with an SB3a for the layout and PowerCab on a separate portable completely unconnected workbench 28" track for programming for over 10 years including upgrading from old SB3. I have an unused NCE USB connector from 2006.  I am looking for a simple wireless solution to connect the house PC/server to the layout without any cables.

TCS A4X Decoder Start Voltage

I just finished installing a TCS A4X decoder in an Atlas Classic C424. Everything works but I cannot get the start voltage low enough. Or low enough for me. I am using the 3 step table. I have the start voltage CV set to 1, the Mid set to 128 and the max to 255. At speed step one the locomotive starts and smoothly moves along, but it is faster than I would like. I feel I should be able to get it to creep slower. I considered using a 28 step speed curve but can't see how that would help me get a lower start voltage. I have an NCE PowerCab setup.

TCS AX4 Decoder install

I am installing a TCS AX4 decoder in an Atlas Classic C424. The motor part is done and working fine. I am intending on replacing the incandescent lamps with LEDs. In the front, there are two lamps, one for the headlight and the other for the number board. The AX4 has built in resistors for LED installation. Can I run 2 LEDs off the one connection? Essentially, running them in parallel.

N gauge Tomix and regular track connection--possible?

I was looking online at some Tomix N-gauge tram track--ideal for street running. Does anyone know if it connects easily to regular N gauge track?  (Or in my case, to Peco HOn30 track, which is the same thing, but with appropriate scale ties for 1/87th operations.)

Another signal question

If you have a two diverging routes (and one is a main line) what type of signal should be used?

Both the first diverging route and the main through the siding are main lines.

Note: The diverging route and the siding are very close together.

Should it have:

One, two light target signal (before the diverging main)

Two, two light target signal (one before the diverging main and one before the siding)

One, three light target signal (before the diverging main)

Sound question

First encounter with sound equipped "N" loco. Use Digitrax with DT402 throttle.  Would like to change loco address to 4 digit format. Can I do this with the DT402 as I would do with normal DCC decoder? Thanks

So how does one go from schematic circuit to circuit board?

I ask this here because I know there are certain folks that can answer. I've never been quite clear on what it takes to get schematic diagram to finished PCB or at least to PCB art. I've always been able to order a board for a pre done project or point to point wire my stuff. My eyes are not what they used to be though and point to point is taking it's toll. I have a circuit I need that is driving me crazy trying to point point wire it and/or troubleshoot it.

How can I program 3 digit CVs on Digitrax DT100, DB150 ?

I am feeling very far behind the modern times, sadly.  Already i cannot make use of modern function keys above #8 and now i seem to have found I have even more limitations as I try to make changes to 3 digit CV sound variables...

Moving JMRI Tables

I am upgrading my computer system so that I can use separate monitors to control my layout.  I would like to know if the tables(Turnout, Sensors etc...) from my earlier version  (2.14)  Jmri can be used on the newest version I just downloaded  (3.10.1 ).  The old version was on an old XP machine, and my "new"  system runs windows 7.   Sure would be nice not to have to key in all that data!!    NCE Powerhouse Pro-R

Decoder for Older Atlas Loco

I have several older Atlas (made by Kato) locomotives. RS3s and RS1s. I am wondering if they use the same drop in light board decoder as the newer ones do. I am too lazy to dig them out and take them apart. I know they have a funky lighting system with a bulb in the middle etc... Just wondering.

Also, if anyone has any Atlas dual mode decoders they have taken out of locos for upgrades, I am interested in buying them if they are just laying around. I can't seem to find any on eBay. I'm on a budget and any decoder is better than none.
