Dream and design

Google Maps, Google Street View, Bing Maps Birds Eye.

I’m working on a concept for my next layout and would like to present my ideas here for feedback and evaluation.  I would like present a number of images from Google Maps, Google Street View, Bing Maps Birds Eye. Is this acceptable or are these images technically copywrited? I’m not looking to violate any forum guidelines or internet educate.

New Garage HO Layout Design

Hi, just finished my layout design number (heaps). This one looks more of a 'goer' than all the other stalled attempts, to me at any rate. I would really appreciate some expert criticism though.

Plan is drawn in metric units (mm). Grid is 300mm x 300mm (close to US 12").

Cheers,

Bill

Do Layouts have resale Value?

The recent discussion on building a layout in a shipping container raises the question of if there is any market for layouts in containers or in any form.  It would seem that famous layouts get scrapped and only a few bits are saved.

Round 2. Double deck N scale layout of T&P and KATY in Texas.

OK everyone, I've taken in what you have given me and am trying again. I have decided to try and build a double deck. I know it's going to be a challenge but I'm up for it. Also this seems to be the only way I can fit in what I want to model.

Critique my N scale layout of T&P and KATY in Texas

OK, so I've gotten my layout drawn up finally. It is what I will call a Proto Freelance based around Fort Worth, Texas in the late 1930's/early 1940's. My main focus is the Texas & Pacific and the Missouri, Kansas, Texas R.R. I have the T&P headed West to the Midland/Odessa area and the KATY headed North to Wichita Falls area.

Digital Kitbashes

I thought it might be fun to see some digital dreaming.  Sometimes when I get bored (or inspired) I take a photo of a model and see what I can do with it.  Today's exercise had been to convert a Bachmann 4-4-0 into a 2-6-0

Emey Falls - a module in N-scale

Hi

I am member if a society building N-scale modules in accordance to FREMO AmericaN standard. I have this new idea of a 2 section, totally 2 meter long module and I need comments from you experts.

I first made Emey Falls 1 with all tracks parallel but a friend of mine commented that if the first track is “bent” around the station building it would be more American and that this track often were used for loading and unloading goods.

N Scale layout. How does it look now? UPDATED!

I'm going with the E isle layout. See my last post for updated layout.

OK, I've got three basic designs. This is in N scale. Layout area is 10' X 16'. Grid is 12". Minimum turn will be 15" radius.

Looking for help in N scale layout size.

Ok, I keep going round in circles here and maybe thinking too much about doing my layout rather than actually building. But I want to make sure I'm happy with the end result so I don't mind wasting some paper drawing and checking out new ideas before I start building.
