MicroBot Brakeman

Found this link on the TYCO forums. This technology is young, but one day, maybe.

Be sure and watch the video about half way down the page!

Easy to use CAD

Don't want to start a post on which CAD is best. However would like some advise on EASY to USE or LEARN experiences. I would like to convert my many pages of design into one document that I could post for comment.

Thanks in advance

The All Day & Night in N scale

So, I have this shop that I got three years ago with a new old house and an acre. I foolishly had delusions of being able to build an N scale layout in the back room of my shop before too long.

Partial Track Plan

Future On30 Layout

I have been  thinking about this for awhile switching to ON30  from HO. What interests me in is the added heft of these models, higher level of details and the more close  up rail fanning view.

Design challenge: Prairie branch line on a shelf

For over a year, I have struggled to come up with a layout design to fit the limited space I have available. I am not a great designer of layouts, and being a world-class procrastinator doesn't help. Now I turn to the collective genius of the MRH forums in search of help. I've included my givens and druthers below, as well as a more detailed description of what I would like to achieve. Any comments or suggestions will be very welcome!

So, i'm waiting your suggestions, guys.

Idea for a prototype on a door

When doing research on California short lines and branches, I kept getting drawn to the industrial area served by a UP local in my home town of Madera, Ca. I settled on the California Northern, but seeing the local in town most days keeps my interest. I had sketched out plan for the majority of this branch but due to certain elements, I decided against modeling it. Yesterday I was at Lowe's buying two hollow core interior door blanks for the double sided backdrop that will run down the center of my peninsula.
