Scaling down weight

I'm not sure if this is a Eureka! moment, or if I just reinvented the wheel, but.....

You get what you pay for

I've been wanting to add an S2 to my roster for some time. I want to paint it up to the as delivered scheme for Canadian Pacific, all black with lettering reminisent of thier steam locos.

Recently I saw an add at Trainworld for a $39.99 blowout on a Bachmann S2. DC of course but that was no never mind as I plan to put ESU LokSound in it.

Microscale to discontinue G&W Decals

Just saw this posted on Facebook by Microscale. I just bought my Canada Region Shortline decals a couple of weeks ago!

*Attention Customers* The following decals from Genesee & Wyoming (GW) have been discontinued at the request of the company.

Tsunami 2 already does what Loksound full throttle does

I sometimes get mildly irritated with what often appears to me to be fawning praise of Loksound's full throttle decoders. One person says they are great and a bunch then pile in. Some people may be cowed with the praise and feel they have to agree. They may be very good decoders, and I have heard, watched and run a few examples, but they are not the only show in town.

Speed Matching

Hey Everyone,

I'm looking for an expert on speed matching diesel locos on jmri in Oregon...like someone who runs a business doing dcc stuff. I'm a little weary of my friends trying to speed match my locos with marginal results. I want my trains to "run like a dream" but I need some help from a professional.

As I mentioned I live in Oregon (Central) and I would be willing to travel a reasonable distance for it. I would prefer to not ship all my locos in order to keep the cost down.

Atlas RS-1 "New Haven-ized" into DERS-1b #0669

Just completed converting an out-of-the-box Atlas New Haven RS-1 into a (90%) accurate New Haven class DERS-1b. While NHRR, the added steam generator details would be useful for other railroads. Lots of added details and pics on the build thread here.

Enjoy! And if you have any tips/suggestions on how I could do better and/or improve, please let me know!

New power for the Milan branch

After about a four year wait, Intermountain Railway Co. came through and delivered their GP10s. All I can say is it was worth the wait. They are beautiful!

I can’t comment on their run quality because I will be installing Loksound v4 decoders with iPhone speakers later, but I’ve already seen a YouTube video that shows them running and they look nice and smooth.

The two units I purchased have engine specific details such as varied Horst filters, etc. Sweet stuff!
