EMF setting problem on Rapido LRC locomotive

I have a Rapido LRC locomotive I'm trying to get running smoothly.

Several times I've done what Rapido calls the "awesome slow speed thingy" in the manual (setting CV54=0, and the pushing F1). After the most recent run of this, the LRC has these CV readings:

Tacoma Belt Line Locomotive - are there similar paint schemes in the US or Canada?

Hello there,h

I spotted this loco in Scott Williamsons article...

http://www.trainweb.org/rosters/TMBL921.html  ...

and was wondering if this or similar paint scheme was copied from other loco paint schemes. I am wondering of the source of the following locos scheme ...

There are a few paint schemes here in Australia copied from US schemes

S Scale ALCO C420

Introducing S Scale's only ALCO Century series locomotive. Here are some photos of D&H ALCO C420 no. 404 fresh out of the paint shop. The locomotive was scratch built using brass and styrene shapes. The cab, long and short hoods, draft gear, end ladders, and other components were 3D printed. Commercially available drive parts and truck side frames were also used.

WHERE CAN I FIND NORFOLK & WESTERN DIESELS?

I am going to build a freelance N scale layout that will represent the Norfolk & Western operations in North Carolina and Virginia in the mid-late 1950's.

I am finding it difficult to find N scale Norfolk & Western diesels (DCC ready) for that period, such as RS-3, RS-11 and GP9, among others.  Can anyone tell me where I can find them?

Will I have to decorate loco's myself?

Thanks.

AHM Diesel locomotive repair

Hello everyone,

I'm back again with another locomotive. This time it is an AHM diesel locomotive. The road name is Chicago and Eastern Illinois. Blue and orange. I know that these were not the best locos, and it may not be worth it, but i would like to try to get it to run again. When powered, there is no response. already checked track and all that, the issue is with the loco. there is a loose wire under the shell, i don't know where it goes. i will post pictures later. Any help is appreciated.

4 Prong Couplers...

Called the local Train Shop and they had one package of these couplers left!  I had them set them aside & drove over that afternoon to get them.  You may be able to see the cracks in the two couplers on the worm gear shafts.  They come off their shaft's with very little effort (since they are cracked).  Easy fix now since I have the new parts.  Emailed Athearn asking if they by chance had the sideframes I need for the SW7.

Removing loco windows

I would like to remove the windows and number boards on some locos for painting, but I always seem to break something when removing them. Any suggestions or advise for removal without breakage?

Thanks in advance.

SW1500 sideframes + motor work

Took apart one truck of the SW1500 cow and indeed the sideframes are cast with the number 70702 just like the sideframes of the unpowered loco.  The powered SW1500 sideframes have bronze wheel/axle bearings instead of the black plastic bearings on the unpowered sideframes.  Will remove the Ernst gearing and go back to the original stock Athearn gear set.  Next up is the motor.  Did not remove the flywheels as I was afraid that they might slip on the shaft after removing and replacing.  Cleaned the commutator with a fine flat small file and a pencil eraser + #11 blad
