Detailing ConCor Passenger Coaches to VIA Rail

Just finished upgrading three N Scale ConCor passenger coaches to VIA Rail HEP. After removing the skirt and manufacturers markings I used a combination of several different MicroScale and Highball Graphics decal sets. 4107 is a ConCor Parlour car I configured as a VIA 1, unfortunately decals for this class are not available. When I find a good graphic or photo, I will create them.

Showcase Test Track

So I had an idea... I’m building a small diorama as kind of a test bed for scenery items and techniques. I thought to myself: anyone who’s ever built a small display piece of any kind, regardless of the item displayed after the “new ness” of it has come to pass it will eventually collect dust. I know that’s not the case for everyone but more often than not that’s the reality. So you ask, what more could be done with this small display/diorama? Why not wire it as a test track/program track?

Puff ball trees in HO scale

I have a question regarding making HO scale puff ball trees. My layout is 90% completed, but for the addition of many trees as found in central Wisconsin. In reading articles from MR and other sources, I have some idea what I need to do, but since I'll be needing a lot of trees, I'm looking for the best source of the poly fiber material in bulk and the foliage material to use ( Woodland Scenics?). I also need some input as to the best way to adhere the foliage as I've read a couple differing opinions. Can anyone help?

Starting My 80" x 18" Hollow Door Layout - The Apocalypse Railroad!

I Think It's Time to Start
"The Apocalypse Railroad"!

I've been messing around for many years now, planning this little switching layout, and do to the current climate in this country, and the World, I've decided if I don't get started on this now, it's never going to happen. I named this "The Apocalypse Railroad" for this very time and reason. I've planned and diddled long enough, and now it's time to choose a plan, and get building!... and fast!!

Ballasting on Ceiling Tiles

How do you guys that have used ceiling tiles go about sealing the surface? It probably should have been done before hand but at this point all the track's been glued down. I've tried different percentages of glue and wet water mix but they don't seem to stick. Was thinking of trying full strength Elmers glue with a sand undercoat and then coming back with the ballast after it dried.

Track Plan Critique

Hello Everyone

I thought I would present my track plan here for ideas, critiques, and comments. I've borrowed bits and pieces from other track plans to come up with something that would work for my situation. I like building structures so I added several rail served businesses. Originally it was going to be a straight point to point but then I added another leg to make it an L shape. I discovered JMRI operations and was having fun with that so I added a yard.

Painting track work...

Started the mammoth task of painting all the ties tonight...

Starting out with a couple of quick coats of the Rustoleum - Earth Brown, and then finished off with the air brush with some highlights of roof brown to simulate some light rust.
