Modified Kitwood Hill 0n30 Turntable to H0

As mentioned in my last blog entry I had purchased a Kitwood Hill 0n30 turntable and modified it for use on my H0 scale layout. As promissed I took some photos of the turntalbe.

Reading Outer Station

This will chronicle the development of my version of Reading Outer Station.

I needed a "staging" track a the north end of my layout for passenger trains.  On the prototype, the freight trains terminated at Birdsboro, the northernmost part modeled, but the passenger trains went on to Reading, PA to the Reading Co. station there (Outer Station).

Originally Reading was going to be represented by 3 staging tracks on the main level, but that solution wasn't visually appealing.

A moving experience -- tearing down the layout

Well, many years earlier than expected, we are moving. And while there is more space in the new location, the existing layout simply would not go as is... sigh.

So I have been engaged in deconstructing the BQR. All the circuit boards, boosters, buildings constructed and otherwise are all in boxes, as is all of my rolling stock. Taking the layout itself apart is another story.

Thunder Mesa Structures

Hello Amigos, I'm starting a new thread today where I will be posting videos and info on the unique structures I build for my On30 Thunder Mesa Mining Company layout.

First up, we have the dynamite shack from a scene inspired by Big Thunder Mountain at Disney. Enjoy!
