New Foreground trees
I sure that wire armature trees are nothing new, but I used latex to coat the wire. This makes the armature still flexible even after 3 year. Here are some of the trees on Atwater street in Longmont on my layout.
Track Plan Adjustments
I've made a few adjustments to the track arrangement on my model railroad First, I've removed the second engine servicing track to allow the scene to breathe some more. The removal of this track allows me to include an engine shed while leaving plenty of room for additional trackside details that would have been difficult to squeeze in before.
Additionally, I removed a short storage track on the opposite end of Sandpoint yard as it was too short to spot more than a single car and was all but useless on my layout.
48 | Can I Get A Train To Run? | First T-Trak Module Setup
This episode is going to be a little bit different. In this episode, I am going to edit down my 3 hour live stream from last week into a 10 minute video. In this version, I am going to discuss the highlights of the process that it took me to go from never tested track sections and wiring to being able to run a train.

BNSF Fort Benton Subdivision
Hello and welcome to my first blog post! Since tearing down my MRL themed layout several months ago, I have have been playing around with a couple designs in AnyRail, and this is one of my possible future layouts(See attachments). The BNSF Fort Benton Subdivision is a small 50 mile (approximate) branchline that runs from Great Falls, MT to Fort Benton, MT. Up until the 1970's the line ran from Great Falls to Havre. However, do to unstable soils along the Missouri River, the tracks were pulled up just outside of Fort Benton. Nowadays, the line no longer
Re-Installed & Updated Fascia Panels...
Finished off upgrading all the fascia panels tonight. They now all represent both the track work & signals as they are on the layout.
It's been a while... well overdue layout update.
I've been making regular updates over at my layout's Facebook-based blog (for those on that platform that are interested the blog is here: https://www.facebook.com/TheHillsLine/).
However since the last update, I'm shocked at how far things have come (which shows how long its been since this blog has been updated!).
IAIS's West End - The end of the West End
I didn't think this day would be coming for several more years, but it looks like the curtain is closing on my representation of the IAIS's West End. We weren't planning to downsize until about 2027, but a few weeks ago we got a letter expressing interest in buying our house, and it got the ball rolling. We now have an offer pending on a new house - our first with a finished layout room and attached garage! Planning to list ours in a week, and our realtor is very confident that we'll sell quickly, so I'd imagine the next few weeks will be a whirlwind.
We started an Interview Series and our First Episode is this Young Man Sean from Sean's Trains Youtube Channel
Please help this young man and his Love of Model Trains! The link for his Youtube is in the Video Description
