Mine Rotary Drill

Going through some of my old photos of Bingham canyon mine (my prototype) I realized I did not have a rotary drill at the Copper King mine. It is not a H O model you can buy, so I scratch built one using a tank from All A Dollar, parts from trains, bridges, and buildings I had leftover. I did not know it was going to turn out so good, I wish I would have filmed the progress. I am going to make a video on my YouTube channel, (Bingham Canyon and Copper King mine), telling about Bingham Canyon Drill and Blast department, it is an exciting time when they blasted at the mine.

Building a Locomotive Station

Hi! I made a video covering some of the stuff commonly found on a locomotive station (engine yard / Betriebswerk), where each item is placed and what they are used for. I´m building the ash pit, watercranes with illuminated semaphors and also matching car cargos.

B36-7 cabless unit

I built this loco after Cotton Belt 7771...a wreck rebuild that was converted to a cabless unit. Built from a  modified Railpower shell ...it is an unpowered loco but has a NCE light it decoder installed for headlights.

Thunder Mesa Videos

Hey, folks, on this thread I will be posting new videos from the Thunder Mesa Youtube channel. Most of these fall in to the "Thunder Cam" category with scenic views of the railroad in action. My "How-To" vids will usually get threads of their own with links to expanded information on the Thunder Mesa blog. Enjoy!

First off, let's take a tour of the entire layout.

South American Alcos

Continuing on my recent Alco theme:

If you want to model an all Alco railway with an exotic twist, give a thought to the Buenos Aires al Pacifico Railway in Argentina.
