Micro Engineering turnout issue

Ok, here's my dilemma: 

Still running DC.. 1 block - 1 engine operation on a small layout…

I recently installed a Micro Engineering turnout. Unbeknownst to me, the through track of the Left turnout, leading to a spur, is dead after the frog. The frog is double gapped on both sides of the frog. I have feeders soldered to the tail track that provide power to the through track and diverting track. There are also two feeds on the other side of the diverting track. Please see diagram:

Condo/Loft Layout: Culvert scene and Train Operation

My ongoing blog about building a small 6' x 1' 1/2 switching layout and a 4' 1/2 staging/Interchange in a Condo in Toronto.

As we approach the Holidays and we expect guests, I want to get going on the scenery and building construction. However, the layout is light and small enough (6' x 1' 1/2) that I can pull it off the shelving support and store in the closet in lieu of my progress.

Condo/Loft Layout: Lighting shelf valance and backdrop

My ongoing blog on the progress of my Ontario South Central Railroad,
a 6' x 1' 1/2" with 4 1/2' staging (behind tv monitor/above audio work station) Toronto condo switching layout.
In this installment I will discuss lighting the layout. Because this is a condo, the ceilings are concrete and the nearest fixture is above me and would be ok to light the staging. So my option was to put up a shelf. This is good as well as my Girlfriend is happy to have a shelf to put up her knick knacks. :)

Condo/Loft Layout: Progress/inaugural run

My continuing blog about building an 'affordable' small switching layout in the living room/dining room/kitchen, ie little real estate for a Model Railroad. ;)

Benchwork is sorted with foam core and cork roadbed, Fascia and everything painted to match and now some of the track work laid. I haven't purchased my DCC system yet, looking at the NCE PowerPro and my first DCC locomotive, the expense being directed to trackwork, mainly turnouts. But I had my first DC run. Here's a few pictures... not the best quality, but pictorial progress in action. :)

DCC and scent?

I'm sitting here watching a great film called 'Nebraska'. Lovely opening scene with tank cars set on a BNSF line in Montana. In doing so, I have a waft scent of tar with the windows cracked open on a lovely Summer evening. Living in
a condo in a busy condo construction zone in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. As I watch the film and huff the 'notes' of tar I realize
I am modeling an industry called 'Polytar'. A manufacturer of asphalt shingles.

Condo/Loft with a model railroad

In my first post I talked about moving to a smaller space, a condo in Toronto with my girlfriend and how I could accommodate my passion that is my model railroad, the Ontario South Central. Well, we found a lovely place. Its an open concept loft style condo. We fell in love with our brand new living arrangement instantly. The main living room, dining and open concept kitchen is a good size for the price in Toronto at 20' x 12'. After signing off on the place I was thinking, how would I instill my passion for model railroading in this place?

CN and CP Manitouwadge subdivisions - railroads you can model

When I was 14 or 15, I met my friends, or shall I say mentors, Bob and Peter Winterton who both model the CPR North of Lake Superior in Ontario. Their history lessons, modeling expertise and general knowledge inspired me to model the junction of branch lines of the CPR and CNR in Manitouwadge, ON, Canada North East of Thunder Bay, ON about 32 km's North of the Trans Canada Highway North of Superior. Both of which raced to be the first to service the Noranda Geco and Willroy Mines North of Manitouwadge.
