Horseshoe & Cottonwood Update #14

Started some work on the stringers for the Horseshoe Creek Trestle.  Long way to go!

Also now that the mainline is done, most of the rough scenery is in place.  The backdrop on the level above the trestle is the last 15' section still needing to be installed.  More trees and structures to come!  In the new year attention shifts to the rebuilding of the modern layout.

Here are a couple more photos:

BlueRail and Dead Rail in 2 Rail O Scale – a journey, an adventure and a success.

I now have three locomotives using BlueRail blue tooth boards and Staunton dual battery BPS boards. And I will never have to wire any of the 25-30 turnouts, nor any sidings or spurs on my layout.

Passenger gold!

I hosted a slide night last week for some friends both local as well as from Portland and Seattle.  It was the annual "The Americans are coming!" slide night that we have had on the US Thanksgiving weekend for at least the past 20 years or so.  One of my guests (thanks Barry!) brought along a copy of VIA Rail Canada Consists and marshalling of trains bulletin from October 1978.  What a treasurer trove of information it is.

Digital conversion of the Xo2 Railcar

Hi! :) I converted the beautiful Xo2 railcar from DELTA to FX digital (Motorola) adding a few more features at the same time. I made a video of the process (how-to). Enjoy! :)

For any of you model railroaders that may have visited Rob's Trains while in Alliance it is with a heavy heart I report that Nils Sundberg has passed away. May all your signals be green my friend.
