Early Rail Boxcar

Early Rail Boxcar

To All: The Des Moines, Iowa Falls & Northern RR existed under that name from 1899 until 1908. In 1908 the successor road was the St. Paul & Des Moines RR. Eventually this line became part of the Rock Island System. I scratchbuilt, painted and lettered this Early Rail Boxcar. Photo by Elvin Howland. Yours, Elvin Howland/E. St. Louis Rail Group Layout.

Waukegan, Rockford & Elgin Boxcar

To All: The Waukegan, Rockford & Elgin RR is the Proto?Freelance line of Patrick Martin of the Illini Chapter Professional Car Society. This interurban railroad went out of business in 1925, but Pat models the line as though it survived. He sent me these decals to letter a car for myself. Photo by Elvin Howland. Ferwood & Gulf RR "Heritage" Herald

Ferwood & Gulf Herald

To All: The Fernwood & Gulf RR (later Fernwood, Columbia & Gulf) was a line mergered into the Illinois Central RR. Today all it's trackage is abandoned. I intend to apply the herald to a freight car. Herald art work and photo by Elvin Howland. Yours, Elvin Howland/E. St. Louis Rail Group Layout.
