To All: The short line East Jordan & Southern RR was formed in 1901 to move lumber from East Jordan to Bellaire, Michigan interchanging with the Chicago & West Michigan RR at Bellaire. By the 1920's the lumber business had faded away so the line turned to local businesses, such as the East Jordan Iron Works. Abandoned in 1962, little trace can be found of the line today. The lettering "Fast Freight Service" is an imaginary confederation of railroads offering expedited freight forwarding. I painted, lettered and weathered this "What IF" boxcar to honor this Michigan short line. Photo by Elvin Howland. Yours, Elvin Howland/E. St. Louis Rail Group Layout.

Nicely done. I’ve recently just discovered the existence of this short line. Have you ever come across actual pictures of prototype rolling stock for this railroad?
