Modeling general discussion

paying for layout help

Wondering how many people have paid for help with the hobby.  There are a lot of people out there today that will do anything from building a simple model to whole layouts. In todays world some people specialize. .I see this particularly with DCC installations, but for years there have been people painting locos..I recently had an older brass engine tuned up and a sound decoder installed. So much  can be bought "RTR" including buildings, cars, locos etc.

Scrap wood

What will a scrap yard usually do with scrap wood? Will it be loaded "as-is" in gondolas? Or shredded to wood chips and loaded in woodchip gondolas? Or something else?

Here are a couple of photos of a former O scale shunting layout during construction. Before I went outside!

Stock is cardboard, ply and one wagon is styrene, All scratchbuilt NSWGR including loco.

Track is made from scrap code 100

Atlas F9 and a section of commercial track in place in one shot until I finished making the rest of the track and built some more locos.

Post 'em if you got 'em!

Model Railroaders in Yakima Valley, Ellensburg, Tri-Cities areas?

Hi all,

I'm trying to find some other model railroaders around where I live in Central Washington.  As far as I know I'm the only one within 100 miles.  It'd be great to be able to associate with some like-minded individuals and enjoy our hobby.  I hesitate to post this up on the forum, but I'm unsure of how else to make contact with anyone around here.
