High-speed trains lead the European economy to recovery
The ideal technology, which will benefit from the government's efforts to stimulate their economies out of the current crisis, is likely to absorb a large number of labor from the construction industry affected by the recession, provide a long-term economic boost when completed, and provide environmentally friendly benefits along with that.
2021 Trainfest cancelled
Trainfest officially is cancelled per an email circulating on FaceBook and the Trainfest FB page. Also, it is shown on the RRModelcraftsmen site. Not enough staff and too much uncertainty regarding Covid possible issues. If they had the hall and have to cancel again the WISEdivison of the NMRA couldn’t handle the financial hit.
JoeF. Has MRH been notified officially or were you skipping out again in 2021?
Middle Tenesee Model Railroaders
Does anybody know if The Middle Tenneessee Model Railroaders are still in existence? Ran into a "Tenneessee Crossroads" video on them and haven't been able to find anything else. I got to operate on Mark Juett's set -up for a couple hours and been wanting to run on something with true dispatcher controlled CTC Ever Since.
Any events coming up?
I'm putting together the Selected Events column for the June issue, and it seems that I haven't seen many posts about upcoming events.
I realize that a lot of events were cancelled or postponed due to Covid, but as things are opening up I expected a flood of announcements of events being scheduled.
I'm not really seeing it - am I not looking in the right places?
If you know of an event coming up within the next year, hit me with it - especially if they have a website/Facebook page as well.
Thanks!

Railroads I Have Known and What I Chose
Another topic got me thinking, https://model-railroad-hobbyist.com/node/42632 . Most of us have attachments to multiple railroads, yet most of us choose one railroad, time, and place to model.
What railroads are you particularly fond of or have memories of and why did you pick to model what you model over other interesting choices?
I'll start.
Am really enjoying this collection of industry articles.
I noticed it at Walmart the other night, so bought a copy.
It’s a new publication, a “Best Of” based on a collection of previously published articles plus some new tips and techniques (like putting a layer of tempered glass over the grid of a self healing cutting board when glueing parts so as to not wreck the board),
Lots of insight into the workings of these industries, flow of inputs and outputs, switching them, some track plans, etc. A very useful reference book, IMHO.
