Modeling general discussion
color matching pullman green
I'm seeking a mix of Vallejo paint that will match the Pullman green used by Atlas/Branchline. I used Joe Fugate's conversion chart from Floquil colors to Vallejo, and the obvious choice was... Pullman Green. I tried a number of variants, mixing in blacks, whites and reds, and I can't get anywhere close. I'd really prefer to stick with Vallejo as I also have Vallejo formulations for a whole other set of naval colors, and I know how to handle Vallejo. Maybe what Atlas/Branchline used wasn't really Pullman Green?

Using Saran Wrap for Loco Protection
We are joining the migrating crowd. More on that later.
I have starting packing and want to use Saran (cling plus) To wrap around some locos that will be going back into original boxes with a foam lining. Once all our goods are loaded into a moving van they could be in for some extreme heat and or cold.
Anybody aware of any side affects by using Saran Cling Plus up against brass and or plastic shells with a factory applied paint job?
Thanks, Jack

Dumpster Weathering
I am a big user of images found online for my modeling. I am in search of roll on/off dumpsters that look like they have been used. Do you have any pictures to share. I am trying to weather 6 of Walthers green dumpsters and have been unable to find used pictures on line either via Google or DuckDuckGo.com searching. Most of what I have found seem to be publicity shots. Looking for real world stuff. Thanks. Tom
Rusty Stumps open again
Rusty Stumps, which I seem to remember was an MRH sponsor before they closed, is open again.
And I have no connection with them, except as a satisfied customer of some of their castings.

Battery Powered Airbrush
I have no direct experience with
,
however it looks useful. I followed his Amazon link, but it's sold out. Very similar items were offered as alternatives, all in the $60-$70 range.
Publishing Costs
First and foremost, I am not bashing any publisher. Secondly, I am not griping because of a price point per se. I am however looking for information about how some printed publishing occurs for some peace of mind. I apologize for the wall of text.

Looking for Online Vendor that sold back issues of model RR, SIG, and Historical Society Magazines
I had bookmarked a website for a vendor that sold all kinds of back issues of model railroad related magazines. I lost all my bookmarks recently due to a crash, and I thought i backed up all the bookmarks, but somehow they are gone. Does anyone recall such a vendor. They had not only the major publications (i.e. MR, RMC, Trains, etc) they also had some of the SIG and Historical Society back issues available as well. I wish I could remember the name, but it escapes me.
Thanks!

Great Northern HO scale 2’x4’ Layout - Walthers National Model Railroad Build-Off Entry
Hey everyone I have built and entered a layout into the Walthers National Model Railroad Build-Off. It is based on the Great Northern Line from a Spokane Washington to Moscow Idaho. Although not an exact replica of an area it was designed to capture the look and feel of the Palouse in October 1968.
