OP SIG website updated
Hey the OpSig website was updated! Just thought some might like to know... off to check it out
Steve
EDIT: A nice professional looking site. I found it easier to navigate around. You will need to update your user name and password to get to the members area and DO
Edit by Jeff Shultz: modified the link so that it opens in new window or tab.
An Updated West Hernando Central
In this video, I'm showing off my Santa Fe freight F units, the lead unit is an Intermountain F7, and B unit is a dummy that has been decorated with sidegrilles from a P2k E8 shell I had on hand, made all the difference in the world in how that old Athearn B unit turned out, also removed all that nasty steam generator stuff on the roof, (freight units on the Santa Fe didn't need a steam generator!), the trailing unit is one of my two Santa Fe P1k F3's, all units are weathered using eye shadow.
controls
Hi. I'm new to the hobby and I have just finished building my first layout. (less scenery). I was hoping someone could tell me how to use the controllers and selectors. These are Atlas products for an HO scale layout. I can only seem to get my train to run about half way around the track. I think it has what is called a reverse loop in it. The wires on this loop go to the XY positions on the controller.
Thanks,
Dave
OHIO trains
What are some of the current trains running in Ohio? I think CSX, Norfolk Southern.....any others off the top of your head? How about back in the 50's? Trying to kick around what era to model after.
Thanks!

Update on the H's & T's switching layout.....
Hi all,
it's been a while but with riding season over and the bikes in garage waiting on better weather I turned back upstairs to restart the work on the H's & T's switching layout. Based on Lance Mindheim's " East Rail District".
Ok, where to start......first I whent for palmtrees and afther looking around I found the Preiser palmtrees kit. Ordered some online and afther they came in, set my mind on them and afther a few evenings they came out like this.....
Merry Christmas Everyone
I know, I know, its early yet, but its also getting close to that wonderful day, the season is basically upon us as it seems to start earlier and earlier every year, just think, in a few years, you will see kids asking Santa for a train set in the middle of July!

Take a train to work day?
So, I believe Friday the 20th is "Take a Train to Work Day." Anyone planning on doing so? I've had my N scale diorama in my office this whole week at work. While I've got the odd eye-roll, most people have been genuinely interested in it. Several people said "I used to do that when I was a kid" or "my dad/grandpa does that" or just "that's pretty neat!" I'm glad I went through the effort of bringing it up on the plane. I just hope it also makes it home in one piece.

Going Crazy?
I know how these things work but I can't figure this one out and it's driving me crazy. This is a link to what I believe is the Proto 87 website. www.proto87.com/index.htm . This is a link I found in another post in this forum: www.proto87stores.com/p87stores/frtrck.htm. I've navigated throughout the site from the first link and can't seem to find the page from the second link. Can somebody shed some light?

engine service
I'm looking for opinions from guys who are more adept at operations than I am. My question is, is it at all typical for prototypes to have engine sevice spurs coming off a switch back from a yard lead? I've posted a photo of temporary track work to illustrate my question. The track at far right is the main with the engine service track to the immediate left in the photo.
