Monday Movie fix
For those of us who got into the Monday movies here is a little fix to feed the fever. Rouge Valley Model Railroad club has a nice website with some decent videos. Should fill the void for the day

Utah Belt Withdrawal. . .
I haven't seen enough of the Utah Belt in print, internet, etc. I'm going through "Utah Belt Withdrawl".
How can we get Erik Brooman to post some pics and videos on the MRH website? Does anyone know Mr. Brooman?
I need my Utah Belt Fix - NOW!!!
All kidding aside, the UB has been my favorite model railroad since 1979 and I sure wish there were more content generated by Mr. Brooman for the internet (pics, videos, etc.) The MRH website would be a great repository for this content.
What happened to MRH Theater this month?
I had gotten used to seeing MRH Theater every week, Now it is supposed to be every month. But it is no 10/21/09 and nothing new has shown up for this month. I can understand that a new issue of the magazine took priority but that came out last week. Surely an announcement of what was coming should (at least to my way pf thinking have come along by now.
San Diego Model Railroad Museum Library
I've been in the San Diego Model Railroad Museum over 2 dozen times, and never ventured up to the library, until yesterday (Tuesday). I was pleasantly surprised to see they had a copy of Model Railroading, March 2006, with the vehicle articles. I picked it up for $.25!
I'm planing to go back sometime after Christmas with a list, so I know what magazines I can pick up. They have books too, but IMHO the prices were too high ($50 with torn dust covers for a book I got in better condition off eBay for $5), on some books. Didn't happen to see any books I wanted.
1890's Canadian steam engines
Good evening all. My cousin is researching his grandfather's travel in western Canada during the 1890's and early 1900's. He has a couple of artifacts from his railway work but no photos. Does anyone know where I could find photos of steam engines, bunk house cars and cars used for railway construction in the Canadian prairies during the that time? Thanks.
Unstoppable 2010 Train movie
This train movie might come up for discussion in the future. if it ever happens. Hollywood will probably disguise what really happened. I very seldom go to any movies anymore.
Recomend me a shop that ships to europe
Hello fellow modellers,
I've been a lurker here for a bit, reading through the various topics... I model in scale N, with (mainly) UP as my prototype. My only layout so far is(was) a timesaver, which i scrapped - aperantly american prototype roling stock disagrees with fleishmann track...
Next layout will be the timesaver again, but with hand laid track (yes, i have a fast tracks jig #10)
weekend fun
I was operating the railroad. A lot of switching. But I had to take pictures and a video. Here're two grain trains.
One picture at Harbor Jct.
and the video:
AIr Brake Prototype use
During switching or trimming operations in a flat yard, whenever a switch engine prepares to pull a cut of cars, does the engineer have to wait to get proper air pressure throughout the entire cut before proceeding? And does he have to do this everytime he picks up new cars in a yard for yard movement only? I assume when he drops a cut that the cars are released and the engine simply moves on.
