car interior help

I am building an interior of a car and one of the last parts I need to add are some small tables.

I tried putting small pins thru them and thru the floor, but I'm not happy with that.

Anybody got a different idea for a better way to do this?

Frankenstorm is here in NYC

Well it seems the edge of Hurricane Sandy has started to hit NYC. I don't know how those of you who live in areas that are usually hit by these handle it, but it seems that NYC is one of the places taht are least prepared to handle this kind of weather without it shutting the city and its outlying areas down for days.

Wasatch Rails 2012

Went to the Wasatch Rails 2012 in Salt Lake City yesterday. It is a great show and I go almost every year, however this year, I was on a mission. I was looking for covered hoppers suitable for grain service.

Here is what I came away with.

Two Athearn BB 54' Covered hoppers - $7 a piece

R.D. Moses Texas & Pacific Model Railroad in Jefferson, Texas

After attending the Centennial Celebration of the T&P Station in Marshall, Texas my wife and I decided to drive up to Jefferson, Texas to visit a model railroad we had heard about.

There are some interesting things about the layout.

Modelers of Eastern narrow gauge?

Do any of the narrow gauge modelers here model other than Western RRs? I'd love to see some model pics of Eastern NG.

Made in the USA?

Domestic Content?   The $500 starter layout contest got me looking at what is available.  Some of the old domestic manufacturers are fallen flags and it is difficult to identify products as Made in USA.  A classic starter layout of 40 years ago would be Athearn kits, Atlas track, and Revell and Suydam structures.  Bowser, Roundhouse, Mantua, Penn Line, and Varney offered steam locomotive kits.  MRC supplied power packs.

Here's an industry you could model if you have a big basement.

Now to build some pipe cars.
