Here's the MRH booth at Indy ... That's J-F (marketing assistant) on the left and Jeff Youst (local Indy volunteer) on the right. The show is almost ready to open when we took this photo.

AWESOME Freebie!

I just downloaded the MRH "Guide to Acrylic Painting" and WOW! What an incredible resource.

The Floquil/PolyScale comparison and mixing chart alone are priceless. I've seen numerous threads on this forum and elsewhere about color matching the old Railroad colors from these two lines and finally MRH has it thoroughly compiled in this FREE download.  No more guesswork...exact matches (or really darn close matches) are all spelled out in this little gem.

if you missed it, here's the link for the download:

We want to do an MRH meet and greet at our booth during the NMRA National next week in Indianapolis.

This is your opportunity to say hello to the MRH Staff and to meet other MRHers. Joe Fugate (Publisher), Don Hanley (Asst Editor), and Barry Silverthorn (TMTV Exec Producer) will make sure to be at the booth during these times.

Under consideration - new ad-free MRH subscription

We're kicking around an idea for a new ad-free MRH subscription - for $25 per year.

Since ads help pay the bills, we feel if you absolutely can't abide the ads, then we will accommodate you - for $25 per year. You can help pay the way, then. We get emails from people who don't like "all the ads", so here's the answer for them. MRH is all about doing what we can to appeal to the broadest possible audience.

Steam sound

There has been a great deal of talk about the recent sound releases and upgrades, particularly Loksound and Econami and Tsunami 2, but it seems to all focus on diesels. This is not meant to be a steam or diesel preference debate, I have too many of both. LOL  It is to get the opinions of what steam sounds you have and and like. I have mostly Tsunami, one Econami but a few BLI. I recently had an old PFM CV Texas  tuned up and a WOW sound  decoder installed and I love it.

GE 44 DC number 7747

Can someone help PLEASE!

Several years ago I purchased, I think, a HO Intermountain ES 44 DC locomotive, factory fitted with D.C.C. The loco is decorated for B.N.S.F. and numbered 7747. There are no marking on the base of the loco.

DUMB me, has missed placed the manual and original box, after 4 moves in 6 years.

RR scenery without trains

Trains don't always have to be in rr scenery photos.  This photo shows a model of Tunnel 4 after the 1952 Tehachapi earthquake.  It is mostly out of sight to visitors at the San Diego Model RR Museum, but La Mesa club members wanted it included as part of their desire to build a layout as closely representing the Tehachapi line as possible.  The modeling was done by John Rotsart, the club's scenery guru.
