Nn3 FREIGHT CARS

All,

I have recently obtained several Nn3 Freight cars..Painted DATA  ONLY, D.S.P. & P. , R. G. S. etc , there has to be a way to change out the trucks to Standard Gauge? I am thinking of the DATA ONLY Freight cars.

Small/Miniature Layout Track Plan Database(16 sq. ft. or less)

I am putting together a small or miniature track plan database for layouts that are 16 square feet(1.4864 square meters) or less. Sixteen square feet is equivalent to half the size of a 4 foot by 8 foot layout or a 4X8(32 square feet). Examples of a layout that is within 16 square feet are a 1X16, 2X8, 3X5, 4X4, 1.5X10, 1.25X12 and 2.5X6.

August MRH cover sneak peek!

I'm looking forward to the August issue of MRH because our third place "One Module" Challenge winners will almost certainly get some attention, especially by those who keep insisting there's no youth in the hobby any longer ...

Flash downloader going away soon ...

The Flash downloader is very old technology at this point and most web browsers will be dropping support for Flash. We have moved the Flash downloader to deprecated status and will be dropping it completely in the coming months.

Please make sure you use the green Web downloader button. If anyone has any concerns about this coming change, this thread is the place to raise them.

MRH App difficulties

The MRH app had problems and needed updated with a bug fix. The app developers worked to fix it: the final updated app is version 5.2 - watch for it.

How about adding a moderated links page?

Surfing the web I run across interesting and useful railroad and modeling sites, frequently by following links on the "Links" page of most web sites.  It would be great to have a "Links" page here with noncommercial sites vetted for quality and suitability.  Commercial sites can pay to advertise. Sites like R.

Rail train tunnel under active railroad

Loco's have to slow to about five mph on the shoolfly. Pan Am railroad freight and Amtrak.

I bike the area a lot and use to carry my bike across double mainline like all the other pedestrians before the line was upgraded for Amtrak. That area fenced off now. One set of rails upgraded to 136 lb rail.

Many still cross the single track section. which is fenced off on one side but someone cut a section open on the eight foot chain link fence. Housing on one side of the line with shops on other side.

Former Union Station nearby with a new Amtrak platform.
