MRH Compatible
I was wondering if the entire MRH web/magazine and all other parts of it are compatible with Apple computers.
Does anything special have to be done to allow use? I posted this elsewhere on the site, just trying to cover all the bases.

Walthers. New mechanical reefers question
Are the new Walthers mechanical reefers based on prototypes or are they close enough stand ins? I like the look of them and they fit my era. Any help,is appreciated, Mike Horton
MRH: More layout visits in 2018
Lots MORE layout visits coming in 2018 ... in fact, the Jan 2018 issue cover story has a very special layout visit.
We've changed the cover story from what we said we would do in Dec to the following ...
WANTED: Kansas City area layout photographer
MRH needs a local Kansas City modeler who knows how to take layout photos at some TMTV video sessions in Kansas City this month.
You would visit the layouts the same day as the TMTV camera crew and be able to use their lights to take the photos. You will be reimbursed for any expenses incurred and will be paid for the photos as each article appears in the magazine.
You may need to gather some supplementary information to assist with MRH producing a track plan (depends on what the layout owner already has available) and you will need to provide captions for the photos you take.
December issue will be out Saturday evening
The December issue is running late -- it will be posted to the site tomorrow evening.
This is a very unusual week with the Thanksgiving holiday in it for the US, then Black Friday today. We prefer to avoid all these special days and just release the issue this month outside of all that anyway.
So look for next month's issue tomorrow night!
Charlie Comstock's "Bear Creek & South Jackson" layout
Charlie Comstock layout
Its quiet a time we don't have seen any new progress about Charlie layout, the Bear Creek & South Jackson.
His layout was often featured in MRH to give "life" learning tips about the construction of his layout.
Did anybody have some news about him and his famous layout?

We're considering a change as of January 2018 for MRH magazine.
The change is you will need to be a subscriber to download MRH. Subscribing remains free, but subscribing is a very important stat for us when trying to gain advertisers.
The idea is you can freely read the online edition without needing to do anything, but if you want to download the current issue or back issues, you need to subscribe.
MRH at TrainFest 2017
We're at TrainFest in Milwaukee with our TOMA project layout set up and operational in the booth. Included is the under development ProtoThrottle by Iowa Scaled Engineering. What a hoot!

Downloading MRH to iBooks in iOS 11
There was some discussion previously about problems downloading MRH into iBooks on iOS 11.
I can't seem to find the exact post, but I do seem to recall someone solved the problem -- in short Apple moved some things around and once you know where they went, it works fine.
Can some of you iOS savvy guys out there please post the iBooks on iOS 11 solution again for getting the MRH Mag PDF into iBooks, please?
We're getting a lot of questions and I have yet to upgrade my iPad to iOS 11 and I'd rather wait a bit longer before upgrading it.
