We're at TrainFest in Milwaukee with our TOMA project layout set up and operational in the booth. Included is the under development ProtoThrottle by Iowa Scaled Engineering. What a hoot!

First here's the booth before the day started ...

Was fun.

I visited the MRH booth and wish to thank the guys for being so friendly. I especially wish to thank Joe for good conversation and the demo of the proto throttle. Taken he gave it to me, Heaven! Also, the Toma layout is very well done and something that is achievable.

Visitors

One of my young Facebook friends attended TrainFest, a teenager, and he didn't give me much of a report about it, but that was because he was extremely excited about the B.L.I. 2-10-4 locomotive and Rolling Thunder sound system purchased at the show. I was very pleased to hear about the enthusiasm the young man has for the hobby, because it gives hope that the new generation is getting involved in the hobby. He mentioned he did see other teenagers there, who were actually more interested in the trains, than what was on their smartphone screen. So it sounds like it was a good show, and even though I was on vacation this weekend, 1800 miles away in one direction would have been too far away for me to attend it. I at least, was able to stop by at a local club's open house, 20 miles away, and purchase some used Athearn cars, a couple building kits, and some specialty track components.
