Modeling topic

Does anyone know of a cradle building project for HO scale? (solved)
I can, usually, find just about anything I would like to know about projects for modeling in HO scale. This time I have drawn a blank no matter where I look on the internet.
Does anyone know of a cradle building project for HO scale locos and rolling stock.?

Add realism by ballasting your tracks with integrated roadbed
Hi!
I have found that Styrofoam sheet sidings of the track with integrated roadbed both fixes the track in position and adds a good amount of realism to the scene. In addition the track remains free from glue, paint and is preserved in state as new. Very good for both future layouts and when it´s time to sell the track pieces second hand.
Making trees
I saw a video on making trees with woodland scenic armatures, twine and coarse turf. Here is the results I got. What do you think?
Mike Confalone: Diesel project 3: ex-LV (D&H) C420, p1
For diesel weathering project 3, Mike Confalone weathers an ex-Lehigh Valley (now D&H) Alco C420. Mike starts with two prototype photos and then attacks the roof, obliterating all the hood color with characteristic Alco soot and oil using PanPastels along with a touch of oil. Next, Mike weathers the cab and nose with dirty grime. Finally, Mike moves on to the side, adding depth to the screens and doing hood seam shadowing with a black oil wash. Part one of two.
Installing Vinyl flooring for a backdrop
I saw a video a couple of months ago on how to install vinyl flooring as a backdrop. I thought I had tagged it on my desktop for future reference but to my surprise I didn't. I was wondering if anyone can send me a video link so I can get my layout up and running?

Dead section of track why???
Ok having an issue that is really stumping me as to why. You see I have a double track figure 8 with a Kato double cross over to make things interesting. Anyways everything was working fine up until I started to build the southwest mountain in one portion of the loop. I have all the track soldered and have since gone back and cleaned any paint over spray that might have been there. For some reason there is one section of the track that is dead as a door nail. No power nothing.
2x12 Free-mo Module
Designing my first Free-mo module that will also be used as my home layout. Looking for thoughts anyone has on the track plan. There will be tail tracks for the main line at either end of the module when operated at home.

Shelf Layout Construction
Hello all,
Now that the wife and I have moved into our new house, its time to start the planning stages for a model railroad!
I would like to note that I am following Lance Mindheim's style of design.
MRC sound decoder challenge
Trials and travails. I saw a sale and bought some MRC sound decoders. Did the first install in an Aethern Genesis DCC ready loco and life was wonderful Then I tried a couple of Atlas GP40s that were not DCC ready. Did the first install. Tested before soldering and everything worked so I soldered it up. Loco wouldn't move anymore. Tested the decoder and I had power coming in across the terminals but no power across the terminals to the motor. Drat, am I bad at soldering. So we try the next engine and decoder. I am careful, testing at every step, shrink wrap the connections.
