More night time photography
As another two coaches have been added to my 'Overland' express, I took a few happy snaps of the layout last night - trying to pose scenes to give the images a time and place. The Overland was (and still is to some point) an nightly overnight express train that linked Adelaide and Melbourne - sadly the once great 16 car express is now just a 4-5 car sitting train that operates just two return trips a week between the two cities...

Digitrax trouble
Fired up the power to move some cars tonight and some strangeness is afoot. Digitrax DB-150, when the power is turned on, the loco sound does its start up thing but then quickly shuts down. Move it slightly and it goes through the start up sounds again, and again quickly shuts down. No shorts. At least I don't think so. I am running four power districts through a PM-42 and it makes shorts very obvious. No signs of any shorts.
Hep me. Waddup?
thanks

DCC Decoder Connection
I am having a problem with the Soundttrax DBX9000 connector that you use to make electrical connections between the steam loco and tender. I have just completed converting an older Riverrossi Berkshire "Nickel Plate" steam engine to DCC. This was a very nice conversion and works just great. The problem I am having is the connector plug, Soundtrax DBX9000 I am using doesn't go all the way into the female receiver part in order to make an electrical connection.

Horseshoe & Cottonwood Update #7
Still working on the narrow gauge H&C. In two months it'll be one year since construction began.
what would you buy HO GP with sound DCC
Running a small switching layout. What would you buy, 4 axle my preference ( NS or CSX) DCC with sound on todays market and why. Will only run one sound equipped engine. Thanks for you thoughts. Zeke
FICT Numbering ideas...
I'm looking for feedback on a numbering theme for my narrow gauge railroad. Right now, This is the numbering theme I'm going with, but I could use some feedback on whether this will work:
01-15: 2-axle (0-B-0) electric freight motors (01-10 are box motors, 11-15 are newer centercabs). Current units already modeled: #12 (0-B-0 centercab motor)
16-30: 4-axle (0-B-B-0) electric freight motors (mix of box motors and centercab units, numbered by age). Current units already modeled: #18 (0-B-B-0 centercab motor)

JMRI Switcher - Move Same Car Twice in One Build
Does anyone know how, or if it's possible, to move the same car twice in one build of a local switcher train in JMRI?

GoPro Clip
Just learning all the ins and outs of my GoPro camera and editing software. One thing is clear, if I want to shoot more video at 1080p I'll need a new computer or a honking big external drive...
