I am quickly gaining a greater appreciation for the hard work involved in the craft of film making... perhaps it is time for a proper lesson or two before I subject you to any more of this...

HOn3 Power Pack

What DC power pack/setting/voltage would one use for a Blackstone HOn3 engine, HO or N scale? The scale is HO but the track is N (3).

IHC Packing Plant and Cannery for my G&D Sorethroat Branch

Last week I received the IHC Packing Plant and Cannery kits, which I bought from a german

ebay seller. During last week I built the kits and now they are nearly finished. Only some details are missing. And the roofs are not glued down, so that I can add some interior at a later date.

Atlas Alco HH660 sound decoder recommendation

I have an Atlas Alco HH660 DC loco that I'm going to install sound in. This diesel had the 539 non turbo engine.

What decoder/speaker would you recommend?  I've seen several discussions on QSI & Tsunamis with the 539 sounds but would like to hear your comments, suggestions & pitfalls before I purchase any decoder.

Thanks

Larry B

On3 scratch built engine house

This is my laser-cut engine house in ON3 scale  I am testing mahogany plywood to give  an appearance of weathered raw (unpainted) shiplap.  I wanted to capture the varying shades of weathering from shaded brown  under the eves, to sun-bleached, and mud-splashed at the bottom.

The window system is all laser cut by me.  The 'glass' is plastic laminated to the mullions inside and out.

weekend work

i guess having an article to write for MRH does give you some incentive to get things done. So I have been working on Kingsbury Ave this weekend. Heres a sneak peak  at some of the work.

Looking for....

Just a note to say that I am always looking for photos from the PC era on the West Virginia Secondary that I may use (with credit of course) on my website. Thanks in advance!
