Modern throwback
I wish I had my camera with me this morning! BNSF, Miles City, MT. 5/18/2016. This morning I got stopped at the crossing gate for a "coal drag". I think they were actually empty, but it was still an entire train of open top hoppers. Every car was the same, which is nothing unusual when it is modern hoppers, BNSF covered hoppers, auto racks or whatever. The sight today was unique though. It didn't look cool as the train was passing right in front of me, but glancing to the east, it was pretty cool. There were three BNSF locos in modern livery and then a whole string of these: http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=1642820 followed by a BNSF loco as the caboose. The paint schemes went well together and that 1970's color combo line looked so neat rolling away.
