Insurance Idea
As I would be going to the States and Canada for awhile I thought that I
had better think about insurance for my trains as I have a fair amount of
money invested in them, so I decided to photograph all of them so that I
have a record for myself and the insurance company if needed. I placed a
piece of track on the table and photographed the first one, it didn't look
so good, something was missing, it needed some sort of background, so
I started to think what could I use, so I came up with this idea.

May 2016-1 - S-Cab wireless battery power system
The Stanton S-Cab is one option for modelers who want to break away from traditional methods of powering locomotives and try wireless battery power. Miles Hale shows how he installed the system in his engines and discusses some ways in which he deviated from the manufacturer’s recommendations to make it work for his particular situation.
Electro-magnetic decouplers
I have installed a Kaydee electromagnetic decoupler because I need to decouple in a hard to reach location. I have been working with them for some time and am thoroughly frustrated. Here's the situation. One engine (a GE 70 tonner) only decouples in forward, the second, an atlas alco S-2, only decouples in reverse -- both DCC if that matters. They have identical new kaydee whisker couplers and their "air hoses" all just touch the gauge.
Any idea of what I can do to address this?

New ESU LokSound / Allagash Full Throttle Video
Hello Everyone,
Earlier this week Mike Confalone hosted ESU for a small video shoot to showcase some fo the new "Full Throttle" features. We will do more later this year, but we wanted to show some footage of the capabilities of the LokSound "Full Throttle" files on the mountain going up and coming down. These great new files fit right in to Mike's outstanding scenery!

prototype remote controller
Prototype locomotives are run by remote control too. A hand held device from Cattron:
Tortoise controllers
Ok everyone. Im having a hard time deciding on what type of control system to use to control my switch machines. I have about a dozen installed now and most of them are in areas that are not easy to get at. So I have been looking at different manufactures and their products and cant make up my mind. I am currently using a Digitrax system with A DB150 which I do plan to upgrade, UR91 radio receiver, DT400D throttle and an old computer running windows XP and an older version of JMRI.

How to model culverts - quick and easy videos
I was looking at a set of 4 Woodland Scenics culverts and thought, I can do a set of videos on them.
