Panel and track indicator light question
I have a problem looking for a solution, or an idea looking for a problem as some may think. One thing that drives me nuts on my own layout and when I run yards on other layouts are the amount of people that always want to congregate in the yard. I am trying to keep this to a minimum on my layout so I though that I could add this feature for crews and the yard to work with.

Bethlehem Steel coal stacker
I came across this interesting picture of a coal/coke stacker. The picture is posted on Facebook in the Steel Mill Groups. I found it interesting. This could be built as a diorama display. My interest in it would be to animate it with a connected rotary dumper. The dumper would dump coal/coke onto the lower conveyor and then the stacker would pile it up in a long line pile. The question is, how does the coal/coke get onto the incline conveyor from the bottom conveyor that runs along underneath. The mechanism is to the right just out of the picture.

AHM diesel -- coupler installation
AHM diesels made in Yugoslavia are entry level models. As used items from the 1970's they're in the $20 price range. It's feasible to add a knuckle coupler by attaching a Kadee 242 coupler box. This is done by using a #50 bit to drill a hole in the truck mounted coupler bracket. Illustrations here from an iPhone 5s:
Serial staging in a helix versus staging yard
I've been giving some thought to the type of staging I plan to use on the "south" end of my layout. My north end staging is a 5 track yard below the lower level of the layout. It works well and is reliable. My "south end" staging will be associated with the helix that will connect the upper and lower decks. I'm of two minds on how to deal with the staging here.

Which Scotchlok IDC to use.
I am planning a 14 awg solid bus and 20 awg feeders. I am trying to figure out which IDC I need. There seems to be a variety. Wondering what others are using and any suggestions you may have.

Glue for a metal model
I am assembling an old metal kit of a Publicker Chemicals tank car. The kit suggests using Ambroid glue by applying a thin coat, letting it dry, add more glue and position the parts. I am not familiar with Ambroid glue. It sounds like a type of contact cement. Is it still available? Would CA be better?
The parts fit together pretty well but there are slight gaps. Would a medium or thick CA be better than the thin CA? Are medium or thick CA as strong as the thin stuff?

PRR Training film
I found this to be some very interesting information...
Signals sent to the locomotive, and an early form of stopping a train if the engineer isn't paying close attention.
My apologies if this has been shared before.
O scale structure builds - card, plastic, wood - the cheaper the better!
Hi everyone.
I am currently working on a few layout builds in O and On30 scales, and have been building, scratchbuilding, and kitbashing structures to go with them.
Rather than spread the builds out over multiple layout threads, I thought I'd create a single thread for those interested in seeing what I've been working on.
I mostly work in wood, foamcore and cardstock, with some plastic kits and parts as well.
