Everything old is new again? (steam locomotive trucks)
Joe Brugger's article goes right to the heart of a number of important subjects.
I was just a little too young to have any Varney die cast locomotives, but I was just old enough to see Athearn-, Model Die Casting/Roundhouse, Penn Line and other manufacturers' HO steam engine models. And I was just in time to see the importation of Rivarossi steam engines.
Pop's General store build (scratch)
Here is the latest build I completed. I recently built this with a group of friends who all bought the KC's Workshop Pop's General Store kit...they model HO. I model N. KC's workshop doesn't make the kit in that scale. Since I still wanted to build I scratch built the structure. Another modeler kindly provided the the height and width of the front and a side wall. I used gimp from there to lay the thing out. I then fed that into my cricut cutter and let it cut the kit.
Wiring a turntable
Greetings
Does anyone have experience with wiring the P-1 turntable kit from Sierra Railroad Miniatures? (Yes I know it's old, but so am I) My plans are a small layout with one track to the turntable and six out to the roundhouse. The turntable will be hand power with no indexing. Wiring is not my strong suit. I appreciate any help you can give.

Tidewater Point Rail Episode 1
Hey everyone, back with another Trainz episode, this one the start of a series rebuilding an old route for the Trainz 2006 game. As always, don't forget to comment, like, and subscribe!!

Insulfrog Help
Okay, I have an intermittent problem with engines (H-10's) stalling at some (but not all) insulfrog switches on my layout - especially at low speeds. Is there a way to correct this? I understand that frog juicers do not work on insulfrog Code 83 switches.
All engines have been speed set up correctly and "crawl" over most of the layout. On some switches, the engine stops and then "reconnects" with the dcc program and start again. Jerky, but the momentary stop drives me crazy. On some points, a slight nudge to the engine gets it going again.

Two Bay Hoppers In Michigan's UP
I am modeling CN in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan but live in the lower peninsula.
Every once in a while I do some virtual railfanning of the CN's lines up north using Google's satellite view. On the most recent 'trip' I noticed a whole bunch of what looked like two bay open hoppers in Gladstone yard. The satellite view is almost straight down so no details are visible. Street view didn't help either.
Can any Yooper help this 'Troll' out with some detailed information? I'm interested in type of car, road name, number series and commodities transported.
Thanks in advance.

Broadway Limited -- Rolling Thunder Track Power Cable
I have the BLI Paragon 3 Rolling Thunder Subwoofer and receiver, and all of the cables -- EXCEPT ONE.
The track power cable.
I can find ZERO documentation on this mysterious cable, no photos of what it looks like, or where it plugs into the RT receiver. My guess is that is plugs into the 3.x mm jack on the front as there is only a power cable and the RCA connection to the sub.
Anyone have any information on this thing?
