Loksound Warranty Return --> Germany: Shipping pain?

Dear MRHers,

Questions:
- Anyone have had to ship a damaged/DOA Loksound decoder back to Germany for Warranty Repair?

- Anyone had Deutsche Post/Deutsche Customs/ESU collectively fail to deliver/receive/accept said warranty-repair decoder? (thankfully it has made it back home, so at least I know where the damaged unit is)

As far as I can tell, DE Customs held a correctly-addressed, insured, and Intl-Tracking-Enabled parcel labelled "Warranty Repair - No Commercial Value",
(IE no duties or tax to pay AFAIK),

Structure Lighting using Leds

i am currently working on a small Rix kit and placed a 3mm white led on the inside ceiling to light the first floor of the building. The issue I am having is that there is a bright concentrated light spot on the floor. Im not sure how I can diffuse the light to reduce the spotlight effect. I am also wondering if smd leds provide more of a flooding illumination, rather than a bright spotlight. I also put a small drop of tamiya clear orange on the led and that gives it a more yellowish light. However, now there is a yellow spot on the floor. Any ideas?

Creating my Mining Scene

I have started to work on my mining scene. Unlike my previous layout which had an open pit, this will have a head frame to hoist massive sulphides. The small ore cares will be loaded there and then taken back to the plant for processing. The design is based on the Chisel Lake Mine head frame in northern Manitoba.

Wiring a smoke unit

Hi guys,

I have a friend who has a MTH Challenger that the sound decoder has gone out on. After repeated tries to get service out of MTH, he has thrown up his hands and told me to put Soundtraxx in it.
