Gadget alert
I've been contemplating some staging / storage tracks, which due to their location in the room layout would be obstructed from view. I've noted the efforts of others to put cameras in place to see these tracks, usually with automobile backup camera kits.

A Complete Tour of the ATSF Paradigm Division in Two Parts
The ATSF Paradigm Division is a freelance prototype N-Scale model railroad that depicts the Santa Fe railroad during the transition era in and around Kansas City Union Station as well as some portions of Kansas and Oklahoma. Some of the other railroads that interchanged with the Santa Fe at Union Station are also modeled, such as the Union Pacific, Missouri Pacific, CB&Q, Wabash, Milwaukee Road plus the REA Express.
The layout, located in a custom Tuff Shed behind my home, has been under construction since late 2012 with trains being able to run the full layout in 2016. It is a project that keeps me busy during my retirement. This tour is done in two parts the first video provides an overview of the details of the layout, e.g., size, track used, DCC type, etc., as well as all of the cities and towns on the Main Level. The second video Part 2 of the layout tour describes how the staging level supports moving trains to and from the main level. To do this, the Santa Fe's Grand Canyon passenger train is used as an example showing how it moves from staging to the main level and back to staging. Then the tour shows an overview of each portion of the staging level to tie everything together.

The Credit Valley Railway V5.0
Well, we did it, we put an offer in on a house on Brock St. in Thunder Bay and it was accepted. The train room will be a 20x20 room in the basement. I have been working on the floor/track plan. It will be two layers shadow boxed as before.
MRH article idea: Pennsylvania Railroad Freight Car Color
Gentlemen: I am proposing to write an article for MRH entitled: Pennsylvania Railroad Freight Car Color. PRR freight car color (fcc) has long been a source of endless debate among PRR modelers. The color is simply a paint made up of iron oxide. However, over the years the color has had subtle changes notably in the amount of brown, red and orange tints that have influenced its final hue. What may have happened to cause these changes at the Altoona mixing plant is interesting.

Planning the Vermont Railway
Hi all,
In the planning stages of what I hope to be a dream layout based in one of my favorite places to visit, Vermont.
I have some time here to plan so I am not in a rush to finish a track plan, and I can not start bench work until the snow is gone. This to me is a good time to start to plan, research, and plan some more. Honestly I am totally ok with this, research is one of my favorite parts of the hobby.
HO code 100 flex track
Does anyone know if Model Power still makes HO code 100 NS flex track?
Another Natural Product
After a long summer it is good to be back to the layout. I continue looking for natural material to use and I happened to be looking at corn stalks yesterday. The tassel at this time of year is dark brown to almost black in color. When I grabbed some it came out in a long strand that included a reddish colored strand, as well. Some quick work with scissors produced a nice looking brush material that contrasts nicely with the tan colors already in place. Some glycerine should preserve this nicely. Here are some test shots. See if it works for yo
