Has anyone used one of these - TCS Train Control Systems / UWT-100 Universal WiFi Throttle
I'm wanting a remote controller and I already have a NCE Pro cab and was interested in their wireless option but then I saw this on the Ken Patterson show Has anyone used one of these - TCS Train Control Systems / UWT-100 Universal WiFi Throttle. Not sure how it works in with my NCE but apparently it does and I was looking for any other options as I have a layout room and now a display room with live track and this .might be a flexible option.

How do you power your layout?
I am in the process of building a modular point-to-point layout with several modules that wind around the room.
I currently have a few witched power strips located around the room that wall warts and other power hungry utilities plug into like lights and such.
When I start up I have to go to each power strip and turn it on, them when I am done I have to do the reverse.
I just saw a video where he wires up electrical outlet boxes and daisy chains them from one module to the other and has a main power switch at one end.
Creating a simple ambient photo-transistor trigger circuit for crossing lights.
I am trying to find a simple ambient light photo transistors circuit to trigger led railroad crossing lights. Something like the easydetect model train detection circuit.

Jas's Printed Roads
When I say Jas's printed road idea I thought I would give it a try to repave the village of Humbird on my layout. I used a combination of Photoshop and Illustrator to produce the paving images and printed them on heavy paper.
Here are a couple of images of the installed roadway. Bother the road and parking lot was done using his printing technique.
Thanks for sharing this idea Jas, I love how it turned out.
Help identifying HO Scale 0-4-0 SP Tanker and SP diesel locomotive
Received such great help to my last question, thought I'd try again
Could I get some help identifying these HO Trains
- SP Oil Tanker. It's made of metal, and weighs 9 oz.
- SP Diesel Engine. Feels like metal. Weighs 16 oz. Has a stamping of 41018 on bottom
Inherited as one of several engines from my father who was avid modeler. I'm considering which to keep for my kids and which to sell.
No mfgr notation anywhere.
Pics below in the next post.

Athearn-Atlas GP shell swap project (HO) how to
I found myself with a Athearn GP38-2 in CSX colors and an Atlas Trainman GP38-2 in CNW colors, both DC. My layout is DCC running CSX and my freelance road. The Atlas Trainman GP’s are superb quiet runners available at a very reasonable cost; I have a few with Digitrax no sound DCC decoders added. After adding a Digitrax decoder to the Athearn it proved to be an unacceptably noisy grinder. Despite cleaning up the old grease on the gears and re lubing everything it’s still a grinder.

Continuous or not?
I am about to launch Phase II of my layout construction. My layout will model the W&N Branch or the P&R Railroad from Wilmington , DE to Birdsboro, PA (near Reading, PA) in 1900-1905. I have built the southern half from Wilmington to Coatesville, now its time to start the Northern half, Coatesville to Birdsboro.
