Baltimore Police Detain Hearing Impaired Man for Taking Photos at Rail Station
I found this story on TheBlaze.com Seems like an isolated incident but makes me wonder how our rail fanning activities will be curtailed in the future. . .

Homage to the Overland Route
Boomer Flats is my homage to the Overland Route crossing of the Sierras. It's a town not unlike Nevada City, Ca or even Dutch Flats but of course totally fictitious. The mainline passes through town and then exits the layout through a tunnel that passes through the backdrop into a staging yard.

Easy Model Railroad Inventory How: Operations #1

Greenpoint Dock and Transfer Company - Consolidated Commercial Printing
I started mocking up another structure on my railroad before the long weekend. It is a rail served commercial printer who receives newsprint in box cars and ships finished materials via truck (not modeled) and rail. Cripplebush Rubber Rocks: Your Experiences/Pics/Duration of?
I'm considering Cripplebush's rubber rocks for my mountain range. I need to decide soon whether to use plaster castings or not. If they look as realistic in real life as they do in pics I'm impressed with the product.
My main concern is that the laytex rubber will hold up to household heating, cooking moisture, etc. over many years without drying/cracking/powdering.
This area of the layout will be extremely possible to work on once the roundhouse and turntable are installed.
