As a child I did not have a model railway or any hobbies due to circumstances beyond my control. Yet the sight of model railways made me curious and fascinated.

Backflip in motion!
Last night I decided I wanted to do a little switching in my alcove area and I had written up a chart about the moves to use as a guide. I accomplished the switching and has a good time doing it. After finishing the switching I decided to run a train around my layout with the track cleaning car since it's been over a week since running trains. The train was headed up by my new Atlas Gold U23b loco which is a beauty.
Control Panel(s) or Distributed Switch Controls?
I'm building a shelf-type urban industrial module (three 8' x 2' tables in an 18' x 8' L-shaped layout) and was wondering about how many control panels to place and where, or whether to use the fascia as one giant control panel, placing the switch toggles in front of the actual switch locations.
D&H RS 2/3 marker lights
I am looking to add some of the roundish marker lights found on the ends of the hoods of D&H RS 2/3's to my HO diesels, does anyone know who makes this type of detail?
thanks in advance,
Bill

Barry Oz Railway Frame design and construction
After considerable thought I decided on an around the wall with an island design, as can be seen in pictures the bench near the window is 100 cm 39.5" x 60 cm 24" , on back wall insert 1 50 cm 19.75" x 50 cm 19.75", the centre island is 150 cm 50.125" x 60 cm 24", insert 2 50 cm 19.75" x 50 cm 19.75", bench along west wall is 190.5 cm 75" x 450 cm 17.75" and stands 130 cm 51.125" high. All materials were on hand from previous projects. Cross supports were cut to size and drilled to allow wiring.

The Economics of Operating Sessions
I had a relative and her husband visit for Thanksgiving. He knows little about trains but was willing to try running a train to do some switching. He was impressed with how complicated it could be - far more challenging than it looked.
Trapezoid Helix design
I am planning to build a helix to expand my staging capabilities and am looking for a specific method of cutting the bench work. The design consists of sections of trapezoids that when butted together they make a circle. These sections are made by cutting a strip of plywood to the specified width and then cutting them to lengths at specific angles, By butting the sections a circle is created. With out CAD I am having difficulty in getting the exact measurements of the perimeter of the sections.
