Looking for somewhere to obtain flextrack ties
I am seeking some help. I am trying to find a way to obtain flextrack ties in Concrete & wood. Ideally from Atlas is what I am seeking, but I have contacted Atlas and they don't do just the ties. I am modelling code 100 on my main line and find the ME track to restrictive to get it where its needed prior to putting it down. I am not interested in Proto 87 tie strips, as I was sent samples, and was very disappointed with them. If anyone maybe able to help me with getting just the ties it would be helpful

Update to my UP layout
I've been working on a free lanced UP layout set in the NorCal Oregon area.

Improving running of Bachmann 4-4-0 Standard locomotives
Hi Everyone,
I did a bit of a search but couldn't find much on this..
i bought some Bachmann 4-4-0's (the ones from the golden spike ceremony) and they're a bit noisy (and one of the lights doesn't work)
anyone got any tips on how to improve their running? and what i should change about them? i know early bachmanns are a bit rough, but I assume there is something i can do?
Thanks in advance!

Brake Line Help
Brake Line Help
I am trying to detail a Walthers TTX four truck depressed flat car by adding the brake lines using wire. However, I have been unable to find a diagram or a good enough picture to see where the pipes need to go. Does any one have any suggestions or diagrams of what this might look like. The specific car number is QTTX 130556. I found drawings and a article about them in the July 1994 RMC but the drawings don't seem to match the pictures. Thanks for any help you could provide.
MANUAL TURNOUT CONTROLS
Ok,
I'll say this upfront. This is another one of those data mining threads!!
Need some ideas on deciding what type of controls I want to use for my manual turnouts. Scale is HO (not sure if that matters at all), but the idea is to maintain as pure and realistic a scene as possible, but still get the feel of bending steel and operating a switch vice pushing a button, etc. I am hoping to get some of your real world applications on your layouts, and PICTURES would be most helpful!

Sponsor that sells CVT Ties?
I need to buy some #5 CVT turnouts. I can order them from my LHS, or even drive over to Walthers and pick them up. Are there any other sponsors that sell them, I'd like to reward them for keeping MRH Forever Free. :)
Thanks,
Ryan

Water's edge - how do you do it?
Most layouts have some water somewhere, and unless it's a pond, it has to end rather abruptly at the edges of the layout. I'd like to see how people manage to make that edge look good. Do you paint the edge like the fascia? Leave it clear? Hide it in some way? What about the back, where it hits the backdrop?

Nice Modeling Photos & Cool Photography
Stumbled across this site containing great photography of steel and mining facilities. Real good interior detailing photos and the photography is very cool. Check out the N scale layout too. Very nice.
What is best for ground cover in yards?
HI Guys,
I am new to forum so sorry if wrong place wrong time??
I am in process of building my first layout. I am from South Africa but have always loved the American stuff>
I have found the dvd series by Joe Fugate extremely helpful so far.
I have viewed the dvd that goes through the ground cover up process where Joe uses the vermiculite / cement/plaster mix.
The question I have is what do I use for the areas in my station yards? Do I still apply a very thing covering of the said mix or plain gravel with powder coloring?
