Layouts in shared spaces

This question is those that have some sort of layout in a space that is shared with other non-modeling uses. How is it working? Do you share the space with someone else, or is the space all yours?

Hello Wisconsin

I'm curious if there are any members in N-scale from Wisconsin on here, specifically the east central region around Sheboygan who'd be interested in a round robin type group for weekly work sessions & future operations?

Hope over expectations

You know when you are cutting corners - well I do - and I was definitely cutting corners when aligning the track across the two boards. I knew what I should be doing but thought 'well, I know it is a bit fragile, so I will go carefully'. Some chance of that - inside two days the ends of the track on both boards were so mashed that running trains across was impossible and no amount of straightening would solve the problem.

This is an example:

Alan Wolfson dioramas

Just found this page depicting mostly New York dioramas by Alan Wolfson. While he does not seem to be a model railroader, his models are just amazing.

Fine Scale Markers – Floquil Grimy Black substitute

I haven’t had the best luck using fine tip paint pens for general graffiti, etc.  I have had pretty good results using Sukura Pigma Micron 005.  Problem is they only make black – I’m having a tough time finding any permanent marker type of pen (extra fine tip) in white.  Can anybody offer suggestions?

SP Rotary Plow Plans/Details

For years I've been looking for plans and details of S.P. rotary plows.  I really would like to build a couple before I get to old to enjoy them!  I'd like to build one steam powered and one "modernized " with traction motors with an F7B "snail" as a power unit.

Thanks for your help!

Vehicle Work

While I was heavily involved with this hobby in my younger college years where life is a bit more stable and time is a bit more superfluous than it is now, I discovered vehicle modeling can indeed be a hobby all unto itself.

Sadly, most of these pictures were taken in the Intel PC Pocket camera days...so they're a bit grainy!

So lets blow some dust off the old kilobytes, I know they're all here somewhere!!

EBT Fall Spectacular 2012

As you may know, the prototype East Broad Top didn't operate this year which also means that there won't be the annual Fall Spectacular. I wrote a 'what if' article for my website depicting a ficticious 2012 Fall Spectacular. All of us EBT fans are hoping that things get resolved and everything is up and running in 2013.

I hope you will enjoy it. It's at: http://royhoffman.com/pwrr/fallspec
