How to switch from MRC Prodigy to Digitrac Super Chief xtra
I currently have a MRC Prodegy DCC system for my small layout. After having visitors as part of the layout tour for our convention I really came to understand I really needed to move up to a better system.
So I purchased a Digitrax Super Chief, power supply, one extra throttle and control panel plus the wires needed to connect everything together.
Tam Valley Depot Quad-LN
I am upgrading my Tam Valley Depot Quad-PICs to Quad-LNs for their added LocoNet functionality. The Quads are for driving servos on DCC layouts for turnouts and other animations. The LN is the latest version and if you are using a LocoNet system, have quite a few advantages. I will not go into the details, but you can read the manual for the LN at the LN link above. There is also a great decoder definition file for Deco
N&W Pokey District, Sub 1 3/4 Layout construction Update
Hey all!
I appreciated the comments of fellow MRH readers on my past blog entries. Your comments and suggestions have already had a dramatic impact on my layout for the better. Thanks to everyone! So I thought I'd give you a recent update.
Uncommon engines in N-scale
Now that there is a Garratt blog, I think it is time for a blog on uncommon, strange/weird if you will, N-scale engines.
I own a few of them, and plan to upload pictures of them here.
Below is an old picture of "Frankenstein", a Vulcan Garratt. There were designs for a prototype for a New Zealand Logging operation. The design never came to fruition, as it was overtaken by the (infamous) diesel.

GLENDALE AZ DEPOT FINALLY COMES TO MY LAYOUT
to all...here are a couple of pics of the depot in glendale az. & also a short summery of it's history.
i was going to scratch build this structure but , one day when i was on ebay, i found this plasticville model that is very close to the prototype. so i thought for $10.00 i would take a chance. when i received the kit, i was surprised to see it was a snap together kit.
Hoses
I'm in the process of detailing the interior of a small HOn3 roundhouse. Two things I am having difficulty with.
The first is modeling coiled up air and water hoses to hang on columns. I have tried several types of wire and fishing line to create the coiled hoses, but nothing will hold shape or look correct.

RGS website updated - remaining equipment, model listings updated
Got a few long-awaited updates completed on my website, including updates on the status of some remaining equipment (coaches 252 and 256, and locomotive 74), and an updated kit listing on the models page.

The Brandywine & Benedictine Railroad - Suwanee, GA
This is the fourth layout I operated on at Dixie Rails. It is a great example of a well planned layout and a great craftsman. The B & B is in two parts very good investment in time to watch both, many great ideas. You will have to open post to see second link to part II.
