Soundtraxx Tsunami Sound Start on Engine Select
OK...I'm pretty sure I've seen someplace that on the Tsunami you can set the sound to come on only when the engine address is selected vs the default which is sound on when track is powered on. I can not find the CV(s) to do that in looking thru the technical reference manual.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. Bob

Ballasting the Trenton Yard
I have finally progressed to the ballasting stage in the Trenton Freight Yard, on my Trenton Subdivision in N Scale.
I find working in small patches, allows me to focus on one section and the glue/water mixture time to set before moving on to the adjoining section.
With such a large area to ballast it forms a checker board effect. Once the section is dry, I then ballast the area between the two.

Re-visiting the Lift Out Bridge...
Today I finally decided to tackle something that has been bothering me for awhile. The lift out bridge that connects the centre peninsula to the northern side of the layout has been not quite right since it was converted from a swing up to a lift out.

Banta Modelworks building
Hoping I can get some feedback on Banta Modelworks buildings. Im looking at getting their
O scale Shortline Water Tank Kit and the Ridgeway sanding kit.
Question is- has anybody built Banta kits, how well do they go together, do they have a steep learning curve?
Regards Phil

Great Works weekend

Middle school model RR: railroad curves
Imagine you’re riding your bicycle along a straight stretch of road. Up ahead you see that the road curves sharply to the right. You’re really flying along so you lean into the curve and keep pedaling until you emerge onto another straightaway.
Homasote Spline Work
This is the crux of it. If this step isn't done right, it'll never be right.
Per Jeff Otto, three 2 inch strips on end, screwed together with drywall screws....no glue, no need for clamps. Handful of 8 foot long strips cut in half for borders on each side to attach scenery to.(Jeff suggests the borders cut at a 30 degree angle for a ballast profile)
Did the entire mainline in 4 hours....but thought better of it and went back to make sure it's all right.
Simple Switch Control
Here is what I will be using to control my switch's on the layout. In these photos you can see the parts that I used and how I used them. All these parts I got from my local hardware store, electronics store and a hobby shop that deals with remote control airplanes.
