Tortoise and ME turnouts

I held a tortoise machine in place under an ME code 83 turnout to see if it works and it will not move the switch.

Some specs:

1) From the bottom of the plywood to the top of the turnout tie is 2-1/16" thick.

2) I changed the wire use to .032" music wire, as recommended on many forums. The hole in the turnout was big enough; the Tortoise I drilled out with a pin vise.

3) I moved the fulcrum from its highest point through to the lowest point with no effect.

Atlas RS1 headlight issue

Hello everyone.  Does anyone know how to change the headlight configuration on an Atlas RS1?  My RS3's have both headlights on all the time with one light going to bright when moving either in forward or reverse while the other end stays dim.  My Atlas RS1 has one headlight on and it goes to bright when moving but the other end goes off and comes on when changing direction (the other end then goes off).  I want both ends on all the time with one light going to bright and the other staying dim when moving in forward or reverse.

Where do I connect leds in athearn with soundtrax dcc

I have an Athearn FP45 with factory installed Soundtrax DCC. TSU GN 1000

Several of the bulbs have blown so I decided to change then for Leds, problem is that the Leds wont light up.I believe this is because the output for the bulbs is 1.5 volts & the Leds need 3 or more volts to work.

Does anybody know a way around this

HO Scale U-1 Inspection decals

Does anyone make them?   I see I can buy Herald King sets on eBay but I am a bit leery about buying them, not knowing how old they are and how they were stored.  I don't want to spend $5 + shipping for a sheet of itsy-bitsy decal parts when I put them in water.

Working with real dirt and rocks

After an enjoyable vacation to the Owens Valley and Sierra Nevada, I came back with about 100 pounds of dirt and gravel from the right of way of the old Carson & Colorado.  The Laws museum was kind enough to offer an out of the way section of the track to dig on.

Facepalm

Today I got on a bus to go to the shoreline to take some photos my diorama outdoors and use the coast inland for the background, but after taking the first shot, my camera battery died. I only got one shot of the diorama. Hopefully next week I'll go again with the battery charged and an extra camera.

MOW weedkiller wagons - looking for information

After scratching some buildings and doing some rolling stock kits, I've decided to set myself the challenge of building some kind of MOW stock, starting with a rtr item as a base and working from there.

Originally I had the idea of doing a jordan spreader or russel plow, but these are beyond me at present because of the complex hydraulics on the jordan and the particular curves on the russell. They can wait a few months or years until I can do them justice.

Signal: Common anode to Common cathode converter

Hi Folks,

I have a couple of 3 LED Signal with common cathode.

I have purchased a DCC accessory module to manage them which unfortunately is common anode ONLY.

So I am looking any diagram/scheme to build a common anode into common cathode converter.

Thanks for sharing your past experience and efforts ;-)

Laying track in groups and getting it all straight

Starting to lay track on my new layout. I started with some track that is in the back in an area that will not be seen from the end. See the attached diagram for reference. Not to scale.

1) The black section was laid first. I put in the turnouts and the flextrack in between (3 total pieces). Things were centered on the line in the cork and I used a straight edge and track-straighening tool to make sure things were straight. This was attached with caulk.
